Julie's POV

"Jul- ee- ah," whines the adorable boy whose head is in my lap. "I want the Snickers."

"Julie, not Julia," I correct him, stroking his brown hair. "And it's my Snickers bar." I pull my hand away from his hair to unwrap the chocolate. I pull off the wrapper, and Tristan looks at me with that expression in his eyes. That expression that is pleading with me, begging me, killing me with the cuteness.

"Pwease?" He asks, his voice pitched in a way that makes me melt.

But I must hold out. I cannot let the poor Snickers bar be thoughtlessly devoured by my evil boyfriend. I have to stay strong for the chocolate.

I take an agonizingly slow bite out of the bar, a strand of caramel dropping on Tristan's nose. Tristan grins like he's been given a bunch of money, and snatches it up and eats it. Then he sits up and bites off the other end of the chocolate.

"Tristan!" I scold. I pop the rest of the chocolate in my mouth and chew before he eats that too. Tristan smiles, mischief in his eyes. Then he gets closer and kisses me.

I'm not done chewing, but I forget all about it. Tristan deepens the kiss and pries open my lips with his tongue. Then he scoops up the remaining chocolate and eats it.

"Gross." I remark.

He leans over. "Not when it's you," he whispers huskily into my ear.

"I second the gross thing!" Ryan calls out from across the room. We're hanging out at Noah's house, us and the gang minus Noelle.

"We should have a rule. No PDA if me or Ryan is there. And get a room!" Mia says, painting Violet's toe nails.

"Whatever. You guys didn't do this when me and Violet kissed." Noah is stroking Violet's hair.

"Yeah." I say, thinking it over. "So why me and Tristan?"

Tristan whispers, "Mia likes me. Ryan likes you."

"The h*ll?" I say out loud. Everyone looks up at me.

"What is it?" asks Ryan. My cheeks tinge pink at his voice.

"Hope you won't leave me for him, huh?" Tristan breathes so that only I can hear.

"Only if you won't leave me for her." I whisper back. Out loud, I say, "Tristan was being weird. He wants to get a room or something."

Tristan punches me softly. "I said nothing of the sort."

I smile at him sweetly. "Yes you did, babe."

"Babe?" echo four voices across the room. Even Tristan is looking at me with an expression like, what?

"Gotta make him say he did. Butter him up? And he totally is a babe." I say.

"That was kinda hot." Tristan murmurs and kisses me. I kiss him back for a few seconds and then push him ever so slightly so that his head is in my lap again.

"So, Ryan, who do you like?" Tristan casually asks. My fingers freeze in his hair.

"Oh, just this girl in my English class. Why?"

I'm frozen as he discreetly glances at me. I'm in his English class. And this look means he isn't over me.

"Nothing, man. It's just that Violet and Noah are together and now me and Cupcake are like soul mates. You and Mia should get together or something."

Ryan is cursing under his breath, from the moment he called me 'Cupcake.' I doubt he even heard the last bit. "How the h*ll are you soul mates?" he asks.

"We fit together perfectly. I should get down on my knees right now and propose or something."

"Trist!" I hiss in my boyfriend's ear. "Is it your life goal to aggravate Ryan? Because if it is, it's working! You're going to die at his hands!"

"Relax, love. I've got this. And do you really think he's capable of killing me?" he says, pressing a small kiss to my nose. "Excuse me, I have to go throw up now. This PDA is disgusting." Ryan announces. He gets up and leaves the room. And I don't know, but I think I hear something being thrown at the wall.

Noah sighs. "Mia, will you go talk to him? We all know he has a crush on Julie. And Tristan, that wasn't nice."

"I'm not typically nice to people who like my girlfriend."

"Still. He's been sulking ever since you two got together. You have to apologize." Noah tells him. This is the Noah I liked- he's able to keep our whole group from falling apart. I smile at how together he is.

"He's jealous. Julie, you want to go check on them?"

I nod and start to make my way out of the room- and Tristan blocks the doorway. "She's not going without me."

I see Noah discreetly roll his eyes. "Trist, it's better if he didn't see you right now. Ryan's not gonna rape her or whatever's going through your head right now."

"Come on, Tristan. Please? If he does anything I'll yell for you. Not that he will." I ask. He reluctantly lets me go and I tiptoe down the stairs.

I stop abruptly when I see what's happening. Ryan is crying on the couch, with Mia trying to comfort him. I fly down the rest of the stairs.

"Ryan? What's wrong?" I ask, even though I know what happened. I sit down on his other side and stroke his hair hesitantly.

"Stop." He says in this broken voice.

I immediately withdraw my hand from his hair. "Sorry."

"Not that. Stop being so cute when… when I can't have you."

"Oh, Ryan." I sigh and lie down, my head in his lap. I feel tears hit my head, but I don't move.

"Why?" he whispers. "Why couldn't I have made a move before him? I could have been kissing you right now. I could have called you mine."

I looks up at him and see a heartbroken guy with tears in his eyes. I have no idea what to do now. I'm with Tristan, but Ryan is…

"Julie, get the f*ck out of his lap." I hear a dangerous voice: Tristan's.

I pull myself up slowly- and then, I go back down. "What if I don't want to?"

"What the- Julie, you promised me you wouldn't leave me for him!"

"In the past. And I did not promise." I feel Ryan freeze, and a small sound comes from his throat.

"So you're breaking up with me?" Tristan asks.

I sigh once again and get up. "I'm not doing anything. And I don't want any fighting over me." I peck Ryan's cheek- causing him to blush red- and kiss Tristan briefly.

Then I walk out of the house.
