Unbelievable
Suddenly, the connection breaks.
The heart which once beat for you,
Once again beats for me.
But you cannot see,
For you are blinded by the new age mentality.
How did we get here?
How could you say that love is a thing of the past,
When every day we fought to make it last?
Were the smiles drawn upon your face?
Could enough rain wash them away?
Is your favourite colour a lie?
I just cannot see how you let our love die.
After the wine stayed in the wine glass,
Because a kiss blossomed from a passing glance.
After the words you chose,
Were that "our love is more precious than a dead rose."
After you shivered from my touch,
And your eyes could not help but be lost in mine.
Should I believe?
Should I believe that the first poem I wrote to you fell on deaf ears?
Should I believe that when your arms wrapped around my heart and soul,
You were only physically there?
Unbelievable!
Inconceivable.
The love we shared was irreplaceable.
But here I am.
And you are where?
Nowhere to be found.
Probably whispering the same lies with a gentle sound,
To a guy from somewhere out of town.
