Space station sentinel
staunch in the deep night of space.
Paranoid Argus dartly glares,
accuses masked murder and invasion
at the red-winking, blue- blinking
eye masses and clusters that surround
the lonely, little
blue eyeball Earth.
He protects in spins and circles
around her -
space sheepdog
of a young and fear-fouled planet.
Gaze out one of his thick, clear eyes -
invisible officers, guards
of unseen air –
and wonder if the fear
is, or isn't,
justified.
