Man of God
What does it mean to be a man of God in the 21st Century? I know not the answer to that question. I do know that it's not what our culture sees God as today: a tool. At best, God is equated to Santa Claus in today's secular, humanistic worldview. We are told, here in America, that as long as the feelings of others aren't infringed upon, we are free to worship the Lord as we please. But, that's not what He desires. He wishes to have a personal, intimate relationship with us, humanity. Each and every one of us. We are meant to be one with the Lord, wholly and totally, in good times and bad. Pain will come; trial will invade our lives, and it's not because He is a judgmental tyrant that he convicts us of our sin and puts us through adversity. It is because He loves us and wishes to remake us in his image. Why? Because he is the one true worthy, holy, perfect God. He knows what's best for us. Regardless of what the culture believes, the life of the Lord is our only true purpose. We are to walk His path in his way, and that's all there is to it.
