Author notes : this is my first story for my SOS (Songs for Our Soul) series .

Joe Chapro had his guitar slung around his back as he stepped outside the coffee shop where he played. It was slightly raining and the air seemed to hold a sense of loneliness. He walked down the sidewalk next to a busy street, everyone was heading home from work. There's a girl standing on the corner waiting to walk. Joe walked over and stood next to her. The girl looked up at him and smiled. She tried her best to hide her feelings of apparent sorrow. Joe smiled back. "What should I do" ? He prayed silently in his head. "She seems broken hearted." The light changes and they walk across the street. Without knowing it he stays walking next to her as if Someone was doing the walking for him. The girl had brown eyes and stark black hair. She had red lipstick on but no other forms of makeup. "What do I do?" He prayed again. "She's going to think I'm stalking her." He kept walking next to the unnamed girl and a voice came to him saying. "Let Me do the work." So Joe kept walking out of obedience. They soon came to the residential area with trees lining the sidewalk. They stopped by one house and Joe opened the gate for her.

"Thank you for walking me home." She said sweetly. "I enjoyed talking with you."

"No problem." Joe said to her but in his mind he was saying. "What in the world is she talking about, I didn't say a word?" But a voice in his head was saying. "I have My Hand on this Joe, just trust Me."

A man came out of the house and stood next to the girl.

"Hello son." He said to Joe.

"Hello sir." Joe responded respectfully.

The girl smiled. "Hi dad." She said to the man.

"Might I ask who your friend is Becky?"

"Daddy this is Joe."

"When did I give her my name?" Joe thought yet again.

"Nice to meet you Joe. Dinners on the table and we'd live for you to join us." Becky's father said .

Not wanting to pass up on dinner Joe agreed and went in. And as they ate he got to know the family really well.

A few weeks passed before Joe saw anything more of the Thompsons. And after that encounter he saw people differently, instead of seeing more people, Joe saw empty hearted people in need of Jesus. One of his many encounters was at the same corner where he met Becky. He was waiting for the light to change again when a man walked up to his right. He had in a black suit and a bright red tie and appeared to be around forty. The light changed and they were given permission to go. Joe felt the same feeling he did with Becky. Again he heard. "I got it covered." After a few minutes of walking they came to an apartment.

"Well son this is where I go. And uh thanks for the advice."

Joe just smiled and went home which was a completely different direction than the one he took with this man and Becky. He went to bed after he got home and slept peacefully but was awakened by his phone ringing. It was Becky asking him what to do to become a Christian. He ran her through it, suggested his church and they said goodbye. Almost as soon as he put the phone down it started to ring again. It was the unnamed man. Also asking how to be a Child of God.

I suggest for better understanding of the song you listen to Brandon Heaths , give me Your Eyes .
