7sorry for the delay, I've been busy for the past couple of weeks. I also apologize in advance for the shortness of this chapter. It was either make it super long or super short so I decided to make it short. Please review
Dave was awakened by the sound of shuffling outside. He went to investigate and as he peeked down the hall he saw someone dart around the corner towards the elevators. Dave ran out of the hall on the sleek marble floor. About halfway down the hall he encountered a wet floor and slipped. He didn't get hurt from the fall, I mean he falls from higher elevations on a somewhat regular basis. He got up and carefully ran to the elevators. He went down and just as he suspected saw no one. He went back to his room and fell back asleep.
He woke up tired and got a cup of coffee. He was short tempered from being tired but tried to make the best out of the day. Rick was on the couch reading some sort of book.
"So Dave your ready to leave for Vegas?"
"Haven't you learned by now that I was born ready." Dave joked.
"You better be since we're going to have to leave some time tonight."
"Anyway I'll be right back I need to go to the store for a moment. Can I borrow the truck?"
"Sure go ahead."
Dave grabbed the keys off the counter and walked outside. He got in a truck and drove down to a Target. He went to customer service and waited. A old lady came up and smiled.
"How can I help you?"
"I'm stayin at a hotel for a while and have been at odds with the front desk clerk and I was wondering if you had anythang that I could give her to apologize?"
"Well let me see. I'll be right back." She left and after a while she came back with a white purse.
"How about this?"
Dave looked at it thoughtfully before he came to a decision. "You have it in camo?" Dave asked.
"Afraid not."
"Oh well I'll take it."
Dave took it and got in line and bought the purse (it was expensive but he was spergin) and went back to the hotel.
Reluctantly he walked up to the desk and waited for Rachel. She came out with a pad of paper.
"Is there anything I can help you with Mr Phillips?" Dave couldn't help but here the slight regret in her voice as she talked to him, like she really didn't want to.
"Well uh no I uh just wanted to." He took off his hat and looked down at his feet. "I just wanted to give this to ya." He put the plastic bag on the desk and started fiddling with his hat.
Rachel took the contents out of the bag and gasped.
"Wha what's this for?"
"This is a apology for all the trouble I've gotten into."
Rachel walked out from behind the desk and took Dave's hands.
"I accept your apology, and I'm sorry I was so strict."
"You were just doing your job ma'am."
"Its Rachel." And with that she planted a quick kiss on Dave's cheek. She turned tail and went to the employee lounge (which was right through a door behind the front desk) and signed. Those cowboys could sure get into trouble but they certainly knew how to apologize. She'd seen the purse before and knew how expensive it was. She knew it must have come from the heart. She opened the purse and found an envelope. In it was a VIP ticket to tonight's rodeo and a note.
Dear miss Rachel
I'm sorry for being such a pain while I was here. I didn't mean to cause trouble, it's just hard for me to adjust to the new surroundings. I don't know what city folks like to do so I got you the tickets, I don't know if you'll make the drive to Vegas to see the finals but if you want to here are some tickets. Please accept my apology.

Rachel sighed and then immediately felt bad for having Stan pull off the prank last night. She knew she needed to apologize but he'd probably be resting for tonight's events. Than she remembered the ticket was VIP. She do it then
Dave walked back to his room in a trance. He'd only been kissed before by his mom and that of course doesn't count. He walked in and laid down. He slept soundly and peacefully and didn't wake up until lunch.
Cowboy Tip: Most cowboys feel that if they need to apologize they do it to the fullest extent. So if one ever apologizes expect it to be BIG.
