"Morning." Someone loudly proclaimed, and Qued grudgingly opened his eyes to see his sister standing by the couch.

She was wearing one of his hoodies and sweatpants, and her usually orderly hair was put up into a messy bun. Seeing her without makeup always reminded him of when they were kids, though the reddish tint of her eyes was a rare occurrence even then.

"Mom is coming to pick me up soon." She said, sitting down by his feet, forcing him to squeeze them even further towards the back of the couch.

Qued grunted in response, reaching for the glass of water he'd left on the table earlier to try and wash away some of the hungover nausea.

"You're not sleeping in Delon's room?" She asked then, and he nearly choked on the water, settling for a single cough as he put down the glass and lay back down on the couch.

"No." He answered as his headache increased in intensity, wanting nothing more than to fall back asleep as the memories of his actions the night before blossomed in his mind. Peeking down he caught Lora studying him before she looked away.

"What?" He asked, and she actually hesitated.

"Nothing." She said, looking around the room. "I heard you going there last night though."

"So?" The heat rising in his cheeks was useless to resist. Clenching his jaw, he could only hope it wasn't too visible as her next glance turned into a double take.

You're cute when you're blushing too.

"So are you guys fucking or something?" She asked, tapping into the direct way of speaking that apparently ran in the family.

Qued stared.

"What the fuck!?" He then asked, moving to kick her hard in the shoulder.

"Ow! I was just asking, you asshole!" She said, beating at his leg, resulting in a wrestling match that neither one of them had the energy to keep up for very long after the drinking the night before.

"Well we're not." Qued stated with a final kick.

"Fine." Lora replied, elbowing him in the shin before she settled back down as well. "It's unfair that I'm the only one having relationship problems though."

"Whatever." He only commented, rising up again to take another sip of water. This whole thing wasn't really helping with settling his stomach.

"Do you at least have someone you like?" She pushed on though. Qued threw her a pointed look before lowering his glass back down on the table.

"How many fucking times do I have to tell you I don't do the whole-"

"Yeah, yeah, I know." She cut him off, patting his leg in the exact painful spot she'd elbowed him earlier.

Qued scowled at her again, but said nothing. An awkward silence settled for a while, before she reached for the remote and turned on the TV.

"When is mom coming?" He then asked.

Lora shrugged, flipping the channels.

"She said she had to stop by work." She said, and Qued snorted in understanding.

The mind-numbing tv shows were a helpful distraction, both from thinking too much and to simply stay awake the time that remained. It wasn't too long before their mom called though, causing them both to grudgingly rise from the couch as he followed his sister towards the door.

"Isn't it about time you broke up for good?" He couldn't help but ask once there, referring to the asshole boyfriend she kept fighting with all the time.

"We did break up for good." She said, putting on her shoes.

"Sure."

Judging by the casual sound of her voice she had probably already half-way forgiven him.

Her eyes narrowed at his tone though.

"Isn't it about time you got yourself a boyfriend?" She asked in return.

Qued frowned.

"I'm not gay."

"Sure." She said, heading towards the door.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Qued couldn't help but ask.

"It means I'm not blind!" She replied with a roll of her eyes as she turned back to face him. Qued merely stared in return for a moment, tension spreading from his shoulder all the way down his arms and up his neck.

"Shut up!" He hissed then, moving closer. "You don't know shit!"

"Well you don't know shit either so you shut up!"

"Fuck you!" Qued slammed the door in her face. Another bang sounded as she kicked it from outside.

He showed the door his middle finger, and then turned only to look straight at Delon who froze mid-movement at the other side of the living room. His wide eyed look was quite a contrast to the obvious bed head and wrinkly pajama pants he was wearing.

"Uh." The guy uttered, pointing vaguely towards the bathroom before he quickly headed there and shut the door.

Qued felt very much like throwing something at the wall, but also even more like throwing up.

Glancing towards his bedroom he settled instead for the couch again, letting his eyes fall closed the moment he lay back down.

The fact that he could hear Delon peeing in the bathroom didn't really make it easy falling asleep though.

As the door opened he couldn't help but open his eyes as well, only to see the other quickly look away. The guy stopped by his bedroom door though, standing there for an awfully long moment.

"Uh, about yesterday." He then said, voice unsteady as he turned around. "W-we could forget about it…"

"I don't want to talk about it." Qued grumbled before he could continue. "I think I'm gonna puke."

"Oh. Okay." Delon replied, getting an odd look on his face.

"Because of the alcohol." Qued stupidly explained, frowning into the pillow. "Not because of…"

His hesitation became a longer pause, and he swallowed hard before getting up to quickly head for the bathroom. Slamming the door shut behind him he dived for the toilet, puking up what little water he had been drinking along with the rest of his dignity.

"Want me to get you something?" Delon's hesitant voice sounded from outside the door.

"Go away!" Qued growled, dry heaving once more into the bowl as he tried to control his breathing. Wiping his mouth and eyes, he sank down to the floor with a groan as his stomach settled, cursing in the silence that followed.
