Shining like a pearl

At dawn do- unfurl

Living in a clear glass cage.

Bedecked with prickles

If plucked, blood trickles,

Tantalizing shade.

Petals in a whirl

Lush, smooth and curled

With honeyed dew- deep- hidden.

Filling mid-spring air

Scents none can compare

Whiff of pleasure so- silken.

Captivating scent

Enticing sweet- torment

With abated breath is chained.

Plucked- by Man with skill

Lured by grace until-

Dropped with a bolt, sting reigned.

Scattered in the wind

Tainted and skinned

Lay torn, withered and dry.

With blood as dew

And none who'll pursue

Sublime fire none may pacify.
