Mirage on the Glass
There's the boy in the bubble,
the ship in the bottle,
the photo in the frame,
the doll in the glass,
birds with clipped wings
in their cages, where they
watch the sky
but they never fly.
I could let you out of all your cages
but you'd never fly.
Broken wings,
broken mast,
frozen moment,
frozen mind,
See the mirage in the gloom.
Touch it and it meets its doom.
Not all dreams in this world
can survive.

Dr. Alan Grant: I have a theory that there are two kinds of boys. There are those that want to be astronomers, and those that want to be astronauts. The astronomer, or the paleontologist, gets to study these amazing things from a place of complete safety.
Erik: But then you never get to go into space.
