17Prologue: Tempest
The sky was dark, the sound of the wind was loud and clear and the ocean was furious. The fury of the ocean created dangerous large wave that could drown foolish enough to try and confront its fury.
A group was fool enough to challenge the rage of nature. Their small ship was barely able to resist the waves coming at it.
The pilot was fighting against the tempest with everything he had while he, for time to time, gazed at his two companions.
The mini dragon was holding against the leg of a cloaked female. He gave a few quick gazes to the one spoking.
"I'm losing control of the ship!" the pilot yelled furiously as he tried to stabilised the ship, "Can you see any island near us Isa!"
"No! There is none around us Nekon!" the female one replied. Isa wished to be of any use, but it wasn't possible to use her instrument. The tempest would only take it away, "Hold on Ryuki!"
"I am holding on!" Ryuki replied.
"There's another big one coming!" Nekon warned them.
A large tidal wave was coming at them. It dominated the ship with its height, before it came at them.
The mini dragon saw Isa grabbing the closest thing that was in her reach, just before it hit them. It was a powerful one and the mini dragon felt like a giant monster just tackled his spine. He felt the pain raising but endure it.
"Did we provoke one of the twin gods Isa?" Nekon asked in desperation.
"No, but the Divine Dragon of the sky is known to enjoy doing things like that from time to time!" she replied.
The moment he heard that, the mini dragon yelled, "That dragon is a psycho!"
The wind blew stronger.
"He heard that!" she told Ryuki.
"Dammit!" the little one yelled, cursing his big mouth.
"Another tidal wave's coming!" Nekon warned them.
The mini dragon raised his head and saw the wave about to hit them. He closed his eyes and braced the impact. He felt like that same giant monster tackled him. He raised his head when Isa held back a scream. Blue eyes turned towards her and gasped as he witnessed something supernatural.
A part of the wave, taking the form of a serpent, never passed the ship and remained close to Isa. The water entered in Isa's clothes and quickly took something out. Ryuki yelled when he saw the Tear Of The Goddess being taken away by the ocean.
"Demon! It's a demon who caused it!" Ryuki yelled.
The female realised what was going on and tried to grab the Tear, but a part of the serpentine water pushed her away.
The mini dragon knew that Nekon couldn't do anything in time, so he chassed the serpent. The Tear was already in the ocean.
Ryuki hesitated a fraction of a second, thinking back about everything the Tear meant for his boss. The Tear was a quest they went for a long time in other to give back many things to Nekon. His honor, his family, his title and many things he didn't know about. He also knew that he gave up that to serve the Goddess and find the other Tears, before the demons got their claws on it, in the name of honor he had towards her.
Everything was about to get forever lost in the ocean, and Ryuki wouldn't ever let his boss down.
He jumped into the ocean, hearing his name yelled by his two companions, before it was quickly covered by the storm. He searched for the Tear and found it near him, which he found it strange. He was sure the ocean would drag it deeper instead of remaining there. The little one didn't care and grabbed it, just before he was hit by a wave and sent in the ocean, away from the surface.
The mini dragon held his breath and tried to swim to the surface, but it was difficult with his legs alone. In desperation, he opened his mouth and put the Tear in there, apologising to the Goddess for doing such sinful thing. Ryuki swum faster and when he was about to reach the surface, a wave stroke him down in the deep.
The sound of someone gulping echoed near him. He realised he swallowed the Tear, now in his stomach.
Using what strength he had left, the brave one swum to the surface again and managed to reach it. He took a deep breath and looked around for the ship, but alas, it was out of sight. The mini dragon panicked as he tried to swim where he wished the ship might be, but another wave sent him in the water. This time, it hit directly his head.
Ryuki tried to maintain his eyes opened, but was slowly losing consciousness. At the last moment, a large being covered with scales as blue as the ocean went towards the drowning one.
The only reason the little one noticed it was the red flesh and white fang that suddenly appeared, as it opened his mouth and closed it around the mini dragon as darkness claimed him.
AC: This is the end of the prologue. It's a quick start as Ryuki is split from his boss Nekon and Isa.
This tome will be longer with more characters and more development for them, instead of only the basic.
