(Night of the Great Crimson Moon)
It was a dark and windy night.
In a place hidden away from mortal sight, two cloaked figures met in the middle of what looked like ruins of what once had been a castle.
A strange mist was present, amidst the stormy weather at hand, swirling around the ancient stone structures almost as if it were a living entity...
In the distant, thunder sounded as the taller of the two moved to where the other stood waiting motionlessly.
"It is done, just as you asked."
The voice was low, husky, seeming neither male nor female.
"The time is almost upon us, My Lady. She has gone into labor." Lightning struck, missing the person by mere inches. Stone hissed, smoked. Yet, they did not so much as flinch. "I have fulfilled the Oath."
The shorter figure looked up, and as the wind whipped around them, the long hood fluttered, revealing a full, lush mouth curved in a smile.
"I see." The woman bowed her head, her voice joyous. "He shall be most pleased. After all, this had been his very will..."
As she spoke, something dark moved around her shoulder, curling around her neck, as its dark head lifted. A forked tongue flickered out, accompanied by a faint hissing sound.
The woman petted the snake, while the other figure watched the dark clouds roiling overhead. Suddenly the woman froze, as if realizing something.
"What of the others?" She asked. "Who are they?" Her smile was gone, her voice suddenly worried. "I need to know where they are!"
A cold laugh sounded as the other figure slowly shook their head.
"That was not a part of our bargain, My Lady." The taller figure bowed, tone almost mocking. "I have done all what was needed. So should you."
"- But-!"
As if in response, particularly loud clap of thunder sounded. The snake around the woman's neck hissed, its dark eyes seeming to glow with an eerie, preternatural light. The woman clenched her hands.
"You must tell me! I order you!"
And the mist was suddenly stronger, so much more stronger. The moon no longer shone, and complete darkness prevailed. The woman gasped as the person before her started to fade into the darkness.
"Please no! Wait!"
The snake hissed again, far more aggressively this time.
"Come back! I need to know!" She ran forward to where the person had been...but no one was there. "What do I do?" She screamed in desperation.
"Tell me!"
For a few seconds, there was silence.
Then, the wind seemed to carry back the same cold laughter. She froze. It was low, less than a whisper, but she heard it.
"Remember your vow. Remember our pact. For when the eleventh year ends, and when the third seal bends...
...It shall finally begin..."
And then, all of a sudden, the wind was gone, and the heavy mist was rapidly clearing. Soon, it was almost as if it had never been there to begin with.
As she looked up, the light of the moon shone strong and bright. Slowly, she stroked the snake's head. When she spoke, her voice was tremulous.
"Twelve years... just a little more..."
A/N: Hey guys!
This is the prologue (of sorts) to Gakuen St Warriors. For those of you who are reading the main series - feel free to speculate! (Tehehehehe!)
Those who are new - Read on to start an adventure you will not regret!
(Some of you may have seen this before in GSW. Since I may be adding more of these, I felt one-shots made more sense.)
