Here is another short chapter. I knew that no one is reading this story but if you are, just know that from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
Anyway enough sappiness. Onto the chapter.
The day passed by quickly. My little cousin, Max, has been keeping me very entertained. He even told me about the school that he and his sister attend. Laire's prep is the name. The sun eventually set and we all gathered in the dining room for dinner. I sat between Lucien and Max.
"So how was everyone's day?" Dad asked.
"Ours was great. Damien and I talked about a lot of stuff and even played with my toys!" Max said with a big toothy smile.
"You played with toys?" Lucien asked with a big grin pointed in my direction.
"I'm thirteen; I can play with toys if I want to" I said, looking away from him. I could feel my cheeks start burning.
"If you say so" Lucien rolled his eyes.
"So how was your day, Vicky?" Mom said, with a warm smile.
"Kind of boring. I had nothing to do" She shrugged.
"I thought you and Lucien were going to spend the day together" Mom tilted her head to the side.
"So did I but he vanished right before my eyes"
Mom looked over at Lucien with a scowl.
"I thought we agreed no magic" She said, maintaining her scowl.
"You agreed. I wasn't given any say in the matter" Lucien retorted.
"Lucien don't start…"
"I'm not going to suppress my other aspects because you want me to fit in"
"So you want to remain an outcast! You want people to call you half-breed?!" Mom yelled.
Lucien looked at Mom for a second with a despaired expression on his face. A second later, he got up from his seat.
"Thank you for the delicious meal, Mrs Valerius. I'm going to retire for the night" Lucien said as he turned to leave. Mom got up and followed.
"We're not done…" Mom started to say but stopped when Lucien suddenly turned around and lifted his right fist to the side of his face. The ruby eyes of his skull ring began to glow.
"Motis" He uttered the single word with his face contorted in anger. A wave of red energy flew from his fist. The spell knocked Mom off of her feet. Dad vamped to her side, to stop her from falling. That spell was strong enough to move the table slightly.
"Invisiqay" was the last thing I heard him utter before he vanished into thin air.
