I'm afraid to be alone

And afraid to be together.

I fear touch but crave it

I fear the light but want it.

I embrace the dark,

The loneliness it brings.

I watch the light from a far

I want to be touched,

Caressed like a flower.

But fear I will wilt,

Die and turn black.

Alone in the dark,

Is cold and safe.

Together in the light

is war but open,

Seen by all.

So ...

I stay in the dark.
