The dog barked incessantly,

Like a siren in the night.

It is the sound of waiting,

A stretching of time

From silence to insanity.

That faraway call.

Humanity howls

In sadness or in pain

Just a shadowy shroud

To catch us when we fall.

Deja vu of all we feel.

A wailing wall of wounds,

Darkness we know well.

We hear it in our sleep.

Life is real!
