In the day everything shines.
It hurts my eyes Burns them.
I drag myself around- Barely function.

But in the dark Where I can hide, it's different.
It doesn't seem that way Because you can't see:

Freedom;
It's found in the shadows.
It's found in the corners Of the darkest room,
In my heart Or my soul.

But people don't see that.
They are blind without daylight.
They're eyes will never adjust Because they're too afraid to open them.

I've never been one to stand In the light- a fake smile,
A fake truth.
And if that scares you Raise your sword, run away.

I'll be right here in the night While you wait for dawn.
