She said she felt crazy

I looked at her

Her, staring at the road, into the sun

Not at me

I asked her, how so

She said her head felt crazy

Without thinking, I reached over

Placed my palm, fingers spread

Cradled her head

And I rubbed all over

I rubbed her hair, face, ears

Wherever and whatever I could reach

I told her I couldn't feel it

Didn't feel the crazy there

She chuckled at that

"I made you laugh

"I'm off the hook"

She smiled even wider at me

I smiled back

Pulled my hand away

And hoped she couldn't

Would not ever

Actually feel crazy
