Here is an update on my journey for justice:
I have done my best to seek out wherever online I can find any reference to "The Mermaid's Tear - Tales of Tortuga" by this D W Towle. I have successfully taken his plagiarized work in many websites, but I've hit a wall in some places either because he has to be the one to take it down on their website, or they are making me run in circles to do forms in order to take own the plagiarized work.
Meanwhile, my lawyer sent an email supposedly to him with a cease and desist letter demanding he take down anything to do with his plagiarized work online. We haven't heard anything so my lawyer is mailing a hard copy to his supposedly real home address. We'll see what happens.
If you would like to help me in either shaming this charlatan or taking him down, Google "The Mermaid's Tear - Tales of Tortuga" and wherever it pops up, leave a bad review saying it is a plagiarized work and/or report him to the website.
Moral of the story: If you are serious about your work (as in one day you are thinking of being an author or even just protective of your work), as soon as your work is complete, REGISTER YOUR WORK FOR COPYRIGHT PROTECTION.
