Alone
Isolated
By myself
Is all I'll ever be.
But that's fine;
I don't need company.
For desiring others
Makes me selfish, you see.
And so I'll be nice
And lock myself away
Where I can bother no one
And disturb nobody.
Because I don't deserve companionship;
I never did; I can't demand it.
I'm owed nothing,
Least of all other people,
So I've learned not to expect
Anyone's precious time for myself.
