Grand Operation 2: Part 6: The First Treasure
Hydre began to download the IA into a powerful chip. She observed a bit of the data, "This is a sophisticated IA you have here Set. Still, the name Anubis is something recorded from humans' mythology."
Set wasn't cooperative in the matter. He kept struggling, but got whipped on his face a few times by Sheffu's tail. He had a few marks on his nuzzle now.
Andrew spoke in the matter, "I know a little bit about it. I wonder…" he approached the humanoid jackal and asked, "How is Horus?"
The alien in question turned towards him, "My nephew. Why you want to ask that?"
"Horus parents are Osiris and Iris?"
"Y-yes? How do you even know about that? That was long ago!" Set replied.
"Okay. So, all gods in the Egyptian mythology are linked to him," the human concluded. He wasn't certain of it, but he had no tools for the research. Not only that, but he noticed the other one shut his mouth once again.
Hydre concluded, "The gods of Egypt were aliens like us all along," she said aliens so the humans could understand her, "Don't know their species name, but there was a ship that disappeared from the map long ago. It must be them," she checked the loading progress. It was halfway done.
Vibria grumbled as she went by the side of Andrew, "Anything else?"
Mark prevented her from expressing her boredom, "What about his kind?"
"They obviously gave up the search for them. They didn't know where they ended up too. It was around this sector, as the report said. Earth was among them, but they were many possible planets they could have crashed on. It was on Egypt."
Salamander asked, "And how are you still alive? Gramps?"
"Gramps!" Set showed his fangs at the insult. He said nothing.
"Probably put into the freezer like Sheffu. He's also a gramps," Suzumi commented.
The buffed alien in question gasped at the mention of his name and grumbled a few things. He was a gramps too.
Hydre grabbed the chip, "And he is in there," she carefully held it in her hand.
"Good. The system is at it should have been," Sheffu stood up and held the other alien in his grasp, "What now?"
"We will need to alert his planet about his presence here. He didn't do anything illegal, as far as we know. Plus, I'm certain his own people will bring him home. He surely still has some descendant who can take care of him until he is better," Mark replied as his back leaned against the wall.
Salamander grumbled, "If they can."
"He is a little-" Vibria painfully grunted when she was whipped on her gut by the gray alien.
"Just… stop," Andrew almost wanted to beg, "Really. Just stop."
"I wasn't talking about that," she whined.
The man thought it was a lie crossed his arms, gazing at the side.
"Anyway, we cannot do much more," Hydre concluded. She went towards Set and gave him the chip, "That belongs to you."
"My son," he whispered as he gently held the chip.
Andrew wondered if Set would have made IA's of everyone if he could.
Set let out a loud sigh as he was dropped on the ground, "Everything went so wrong," he commented.
"We should bring him outside. Sheffu surely doesn't want him to stay inside for much longer," Suzumi suggested.
Sheffu grabbed the treasure, while Mark lifted the alien, "Yes."
The gray lizard grumbled, "Don't try anything, because you might accidentally destroy him."
"I… I won't," Set replied in defeat.
The others followed him.
Hydre asked, "That golden box is the treasure we were after?"
"Yes. Sheffu will explain what it is later. Not that easy to get. Just that it recorded many things inside of it," the pink-haired woman replied.
"For now, we need to treat your wounds and sent that alien back home," Hydre replied.
"It stopped bleeding already," Vibria replied.
The group were back near the invisible ship and waited for the aliens of Set kind to come and pick him. The treasure they were looking for was left in their ship, out of sight of the aliens who would come to take the alien away.
"He is going to need a lot of support to get over… whatever happened here," Mark commented. He observed the silent alien who watched the pyramids.
"I hope the ships of his species looks like a pyramid or something like that," Andrew commented as he observed the scarlet sky. It was getting late at Egypt. He wondered what time it was back home.
Vibria chuckled, "Maybe. I don't know. Maybe like a slice of pizza."
"A slice of pizza… You compared ships to that!" Mark yelled at her furiously.
"Admit it, some of them looks like that," she had a grin on her face.
"She's right Mark," Salamander picked her side.
The gray alien snared at her and turned his back, "Say it looks like a triangle instead of food."
"You're right?" the human said a little uncertain.
"She's not bright, but not a complete idiot," Hydre said.
Vibria pulled the man against her side, "Yup."
"O-okay," he grumbled with his face against her lard.
Suzumi chuckled, "Everything ends okay with us. Hope he'll get all the help he needs," she sighed and crossed her arms as the thought sank him, "He was stuck here, so far away from home. No wonder it turned up like this," she closed her eyes. She thought about her home.
"You want us to bring you to your home?" Mark asked.
Sheffu lightly jumped at the thought.
"Nono. I rather be with you guys. I still miss it a little, but I know you are growing apples here. I rather be able to do what I want," the woman commented with a hint of melancholy in her voice. She chased that away when she jumped on Sheffu and hugged him.
The large alien gasped when she squeezed his gut. Smoke came out of his nostrils and the side of his head, "H-hey!"
"Besides, you also lost everyone you know. I'm the first one you saw when you wake up."
"Y-yeah," the buffed reptilian being gazed down as the smoke quickly calmed down. He wondered what happened to the luminaries. The ship was intact. It told him that they didn't die in a crash. Those of that ship. He wondered if they all died out, or where somewhere else on Earth.
Hydra put her hand on the side of the head and nodded, "They are almost here."
They raised their head and waited for the spaceship to show up. They saw a small ship that landed near them. It looked like a human spaceship somehow. Not as impressive as the two humans expected.
The ship revealed the occupant to look a little similar to Horus. He had a humanoid body with the face of a bird. He wore a black jumpsuit. He adjusted his throat and asked, "You were the one who called us?"
"Yes," Hydre stood on the side and showed Set, "This is the alien that disappeared long ago around this part of the galaxy."
The Horus-like alien hummed as he checked the humanoid Jackal. Set was quiet as he observed one of his own kind. He stopped struggling and wondered how it would go.
"Yes, I can see that he is part of the Janurian family. One who went missing so long ago. Anything else about the others… and how he survived beyond the normal?"
"No idea. He wasn't cooperative. We fought in order to restrain him," Mark answered.
"We will figure it out eventually. Still, this isn't the priority. His family will be happy to see him, not matter how distant it is."
"R-really?" he asked in disbelief. He was gone for so long and no one would be waiting for him. Not only that, but the others were ignored somehow.
"Yes. Anyway… Thank you for calling us. Even if he attacked you and badly hurt her," he pointed at the fat lizard, "You still call us. On the behalf of my kind," he bowed to them, "I thank you for everything you have done," he raised his head, "And… anything about my ancestor Horus? He was part of the expedition."
"What expedition?" Salamander asked.
"They were in search of a planet to collect some of its resource. We had a shortage of food and sent a few ships to search around. It was in order to increase the food supply. It was a success, but the Pyramidal ship disappeared from the radar, before crashing on this planet," he looked at the desert.
Andrew wondered how they ended up seen as deity of Egypt. Still, it wasn't that important.
Mark approached the alien and whispered, "He is not completely fine in his head. He still thinks the others are alive somehow. I was sure that everything that happened might just made him change his mind," he took a step back, "He will definitely need all the help he can get."
"Thank you for telling me. He will have all the help he needs," the alien coughed quietly. He gazed at Set, "You can release him. I will him back home with the others," he approached the humanoid jackal. He grabbed his arm once he was freed and gently pulled him with him, "Everything will be okay soon."
"What about the others?" Set whispered.
"They are coming with us. Can't you see it?"
"Y-yeah," he replied.
The group watched the aliens leave in the ship. It flew in the sky and disappeared from sight.
There were many things that weren't explained. Andrew wanted to have the full closure, but he knew it wouldn't be the case. He had to live with many questions unanswered.
Once the alien was left with his own kind, they climbed on the ship and prepared to depart back home.
Sheffu put the treasure in the middle of the room. The aliens and the humans looked at it. He explained that it was a recorder and it contained many information's collected by the Luminaries. He warned them one thing, "Do not even think of selling this information. If you want to sell it, sell it to the Luminaries. Everything recorded inside of it is extremely dangerous. It shouldn't be in the hands on anyone else who doesn't have the wisdom to properly used for good."
Hydre sighed, "Too bad. I was curious to check what was inside," she then turned her attention to Vibria, "I'll have to tell you a few things later. To the infirmary room right now!" she pushed her.
She didn't move, "And we will make no gold out of this treasure," she sighed. She then gazed at the buffed green alien, "Don't mind. Guess it's better to make nothing than let evil claws on this," she raised her shoulders.
"He said we can sell it to the Luminaries. Meaning they won't mind if we bring it back to them," Salamander reminded her. He let out a small smirk as the frail Hydre tried to move the large one out of the room.
Mark sighed, "Still, congratulation in finding the treasure. It's the first one we can collect on Earth," he let out a small smile, "We all did well together."
The white lizard stopped pushing her and turned towards the others, "Not me. I wasn't there when it turned badly," she crossed her arms and leaned against the back of Vibria, who didn't mind, "Guess that means I'll have to come with you next time."
"What?" the three members of the crew who knew her asked. They were taken aback.
Andrew was also surprise by that statement. He didn't know her as much as the three aliens, but it was enough to know she wouldn't decide something like that.
"Did you see how my friend ended up?" she pocked one of the bruises on her friend stomach.
"Does you have to poke it like that," Vibria whined.
"You're the one who stays here and no get treated for those wounds first," she replied.
The fat female alien whined as crossed her arms, "Fine. I'll go check those wounds. Especially the cut," she walked outside of the room.
Sheffu put his hand on the cube, "You're going to sell it to the Luminaries?" he asked.
"Guess this is our only option. There might be secrets that shouldn't be found inside. Like non-lethal weapons that could be turned into extremely lethal weapons," Mark replied.
Salamander sighed, "We won't get as much gold as the other alien species. That's for sure."
"I prefer we make less gold than ending up with something that can blow up a planet, or a solar system," Susumi added her thought as she looked at it.
"A Pandora Box… In a way," Andrew muttered to himself.
"As long as there is more gold than this cube," the gray alien decided.
"Of course, you cannot sell that much and obtain less," Sheffu agreed with them. He grabbed it, "I'll put it in my room."
Salamander waved his hand, "We don't mind. It is a connection to your friends… right?"
"Yes. If there is more than one ship, maybe the Luminaries are living somewhere on Earth. They wouldn't leave a ship like that on the planet, unless something happened," Sheffu then left the room.
Hydre nodded, "We didn't try a full search of the system, but I guess it is possible. Set didn't use it to return to his home planet."
"We will never know how he ended up as the only survivor… unless the others are still around the Earth," Andrew commented. He then wondered if one of them was still around and disguised as a banker. Why a banker? Because it was the likely position an alien might take.
Susumu wondered, "And what do we do about the ship? We just left it there, floating in midair."
The man thought more, "And how didn't something crash on it. They are planes that fly there and there never has been an incident about a plane hitting something invisible in the air."
"They could hide the proof," Hydre replied.
"That's not a matter we should concern ourselves with. The Luminaries wouldn't leave something that might endanger people. I guess there is something that made the planes moved away. They couldn't hide the proof that well, since it is near a tourist spot," Mark pushed the mater on the side.
"We still just leave it there?" Andrew insisted.
"I don't think anyone knows how this ship really work. Besides, it cannot go to space and surely not around. It will just float there until the end of time I guess," Salamander declared.
Hydre sighed, "I'll check on Vibria. She might try to do something dump. She is good with a health kit, but it's best I don't leave her unsupervised for long," she left the room.
Susumi watched Mark as he sat on the pilot chair, "We're going home?"
"Yes. We talked long enough. We'll return slowly. We have a patient who needs treatment. Not sure how she will come out if Hydre take too long. It might be good news or bad news," the gray alien replied. He frowned, "Still, we have to be careful with the pirates around here. They might be patrolling the area," he pressed on a few switches.
They departed and returned home.
Hydre walked in the infirmary and stopped when she noticed the state her friend was in. She let out a small grin.
Vibria treated her wounds well. She had bandages over her cut and her bruises were covered with a special oil. Her scales surely felt good with that ointment applied on. However, the bandages also were around her jaw, forcing it to remain closed.
"Guess we will have some quiet time for a while," the white lizard chuckled.
Her chubby friend growled as she tried to reply something with no avail. She crossed her arms and grumbled something else.
"I'll just take this pointless bandage out. Once done, you rest."
She positively nodded to that demand.
Hydre proceeded to free her friend's mouth.
Once it was done, her large friend went to her room and sleep.
AC: This is the end of this Grand Operation. Not everything about Set is answered. Maybe more will come out.
Next Operation: Remembrance.
As Vibria healed up, she and Hydre thought back on their first encounter and how their friendship began.
