Face In the Window

by Shino Yume

It's getting late,
the grass I walk on is damp.
It's quiet for a time...
but then, a movement.
I look up.
There is a face in the window.
Pale skin, Inky black eyes.
Black satin hair, and white lips.
She looks like a ghost.
She notices me,
and in a instant, gone.
My question mark eyes lead me inside,
up to the room of the window.
The room is empty.
There is a sudden icy breeze,
but the windows are closed.
It is strong enough to shut the door.
It's locked.
I hear a light, soft laughter.
She is free.
Now I must become the face in the window.
