Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. started her career as an attorney at Essex County Public Defender's Office in Newark. She litigated criminal indictable cases including drug offenses, theft, sexual assault, armed robberies, and possession of deadly weapons. She assigned assistant public defender to represent clients at arraignment and bail hearings.

As the former solo practitioner, Rachel believes that they work for themselves and have a strong sense of business as well. She served at The Marshall Law Practice LLC in Newark. Here, she maintained a landlord-tenant practice through the State of New Jersey. Besides, she represented landlords and housing nonprofits in tenant eviction matters.

Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. currently works as the Chief Municipal Public Defender. Pertaining to her responsibilities, she reviews and adopts policies and procedures that are consistent with the Administrative Office of the Courts and State of New Jersey Public Defender's office. She resolves the scheduling issues and conflict assignments. Besides, she deals with the paperwork and communication involved with the client's cases.

Pertaining to her education accreditations, Rachel pursued Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1993. She completed her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1997.
