Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. started her career as an attorney at Essex County Public Defender's Office in Newark. She litigated criminal indictable cases including drug offenses, theft, sexual assault, armed robberies, and possession of deadly weapons.

Rachel is currently working as Chief Municipal Public Defender where she resolves the scheduling issues and conflict assignments. Besides, she supervises the administration of public legal service for the City of Newark's municipal courts. Rachel also provides the legal services to the individuals charged with criminal, traffic, housing, and DUI cases.

Specialized in civil and criminal laws, Rachel Y. Marshall, Esq. works to provide education and training to the staff on current legal issues and liaisons with the court administration, judges, and other court personnel.

Formerly working as the solo practitioner, she represented corporations and non-profit organizations regarding corporate formation, employment issues, and business operations. Serving at The Marshall Law Practice LLC in Newark, she maintained a landlord-tenant practice through the State of New Jersey. She represented landlords and housing nonprofits in tenant eviction matters.
