My first order of business is finding my brother to see just what in the hell is going on. I went over to his apartment that he shared with Nolan, and both of their cars were in the drive. A million thoughts were running through my mind. What if this is something I can't help with? Or what if this is legal? I can't risk my license by covering for Drew. I knocked on the door and waited for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, Nolan opened the door.

"Oh, thank fuck!" He exclaimed. Opening the door wider, he let me in.

"Drew! It's your sister. Oh, Ann you have no idea how good it is to see you. I have no idea how you heard, but I'm glad you're here. We need you!"

Walking in, I noticed the apartment in slight disarray. "Nolan, I need to know what in the hell is going on. I get a call saying that Drew is in trouble, and I must come back home. So cut the crap and tell me what is going on."

Drew walked in the room, and I had never seen him look worse. He had bags under his eyes, and they were so dark it almost looked like he had two black eyes.

"Annie, I fucked up. I broke the most important rule that mom and dad ever gave us, and I'm fucked. I don't know how to get out of this one. I'm going to lose it Ann. I can't fix it." He said on the verge of tears.

Our parents only gave us a few rules to live by. The first is that we were to never do anything that could jeopardize dad and his career. They didn't care what we did, just as long as no consequences could ever come back to him. The second, was that we were family and we had to stick by one another. Which Drew and I always found hilarious because they were always so quick to leave us behind, but we took that to heart with each other. It is why I always found myself coming to the aide of my brother. He had no one else. Just me. We're it for each other, and I had to have his back. Third, and most importantly, we were to never, under any circumstances, associate with demons.

Most demons could completely blend in with humans. They practically all looked exactly the same, it was just the eyes that were different. You could tell how high ranking a demon was from the color of their eyes. Regular, low level demons had black eyes. They could blend in the most, just because from far away it just looked like they had dark brown eyes. These demons can't do much damage. I mean, all demons are stronger and faster than humans, and can't really die very easily, but some of the higher-ranking ones had gifts. Mid-level demons had yellow eyes. These demons usually held some type of powerful positions. They oversaw business, mostly demon owned businesses, because there were some places that only allowed humans or only allowed demons. Very few businesses allowed the intermingling of both. The yellow eyed demons were slightly rarer, and could mostly slightly affect people. They usually were split between two categories. One, they could influence your fear. They had the capabilities to make a person emit so much fear they would agree to anything, and thus the demons could control the outcomes of almost anything. The second kind were incubus or succubus. They could seduce anyone they wanted, and in turn drive people mad with want. So desperate, they would agree to whatever the demon wanted. The rarest of all demons, and the deadliest, were the red eyed demons. They were practically royalty in the demon world. All the other demons bowed to these few, and did their bidding. If a red eyed demon wants someone ruined, they have practically the entire demon community to pick and choose soldiers to fulfill their desires. They apparently emit so much power, that humans can hardly stand to be in their presence. I've never actually seen a red eyed demon, nor do I know much about the demon world. Just enough to know to stay the hell out of it.

"What the hell do you mean you broke the most important rule, Andrew?" I asked.

"It wasn't really on purpose, Ann, I swear it! Nolan and I were working, like actual jobs in security, and these dudes in sunglasses tried to walk right into the building. I don't know what it was about them, but they gave me the wrong vibe, and I didn't think I should let them in, right? I mean, that's my job is to vet people and stop them from going into the building if needed. So, I told them to stay where they were, and I need some identification and reason for being here!"

"Andrew, I need you to get to the point where you fucked up. I don't want you sugar coating it like you're doing right now. You're making it seem like you didn't do anything wrong, and only did what you were supposed to do. Obviously, that isn't true, so cut to the chase and tell me so we can figure out what to do." I demanded.

"Okay fine. These dudes just looked like dicks Anna, so that's why I stopped them. I guess I should mention it isn't really my job to stop anyone from going into the building, just to escort them out if something goes wrong. So anyway, they look at me and kind of scoff and blow me off, and that pisses me off. Nolan did try to calm me down, but you know I'm kind of a hot head. So, I started going off asking them who they thought they were. That I work for a really powerful dude and he's not someone to mess with, so they better straighten up and listen."

"Who do you work for?" I asked. Judging by his sheepish face, I asked the one question he didn't want to answer.

"Well, truth is, I don't really know. I just know it's a big business that makes a lot of money. A real high-class place. Well, the real problem is that they called me out on it, and asked why the owner would give a damn what I do. Before I knew what I was doing, I said that the boss man and I were real close, and I do this job as a favor to him. He really works with me, rather than me work for him, and all I have to do is say the word, and he does whatever I ask. They started laughing at me Anna, and took their sunglasses off. It was a bunch of fucking demons! I felt like I was going to barf, because any of them could easily kick my ass. There was only one yellow eyed dude though, which made me feel a bit better. Except that was when he laughed and said he'd tell the big boss exactly what I said, and that they'd be sure to follow up with me. Anna, my fucking boss is a demon!"

"Well, I definitely would say you're an idiot, but I don't see how this is that bad. I mean, yes, you fucked up and messed with demons. Broke the most important rule, but that was something our family made up. It isn't a law or anything. And yeah, you're probably going to get fired or some shit, but just apologize and say you didn't even know what you were doing until it was done, and you obviously won't do it again. Lesson learned and move on."

Nolan interjected, "Normally you'd be spot on Anna, but the problem lies where your brother didn't read the fine print in our contract. I knew we worked for demons, because it specifically states that the demon who owns the company we work for is a high class motherfucker, and doesn't take slander to his name. You don't mess with his status, and he doesn't put up with any of that shit. That is the only thing that we were told there would be repercussions on. Drew made it seem like the boss man was practically his bitch, even though obviously that was a lie. I mean, dude seriously, we're glorified bouncers. The part where we are freaking out, is that no one has come to see us yet. Nothing has happened."

Drew interjected, "Anna I don't want to die. I don't know what to say to him or do to get out of this mess. Demons can really fuck with you, in the worst of ways. What if they take me away and torture me? What if-"He was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Oh shit! It's probably them. What the fuck do I do Ann?"

"For one, take a deep breath and calm the fuck down. You need to get your head on straight, and push your pride aside. You are going to let them talk and tell you what the hell is going on and what they are going to do. You are going to endlessly apologize and see if there is anything you can do to redeem yourself. Andrew, listen to me. Whatever you do, don't sign yourself up for servitude. You know it can happen. Just keep your mouth shut, and whatever you do be careful."

Drew nodded and attempted to calm himself down while Nolan went to open the door. I leaned against the wall and looked to the door to see just what we were dealing. There stood one of the most fit men I had ever seen in my entire life. He had to have been 6'3" or 6'4", body was rippling with muscle at every move, hair was jet black, and the thing that immediately drew my attention was the nefarious grin of too sharp teeth, and crimson eyes staring straight at me.
