Author comment: This story is based on the inspiration of another story that the author stopped developing. I really enjoyed what he made. It was a webcomic with a bit of animations on them and a few scenes that were fully animated. PoweredByGif stopped it as it took too much time. I also really like the creatures he made and his drawings on Twitter.
He was bored. So bored. For a long time, he was trapped there. He was in jail. He was alone. He was on his own. There was no sound, except the one from his own voice. He didn't want to say anything. There was only him and no one else.
Eventually, the silence broke. A sound came from the other side of his prison. He wondered if the other one returned. The sound approached his location. He waited. If the other one came here, he will complain of his actual treatment. Just like the many other times before.
The door opened. At the other side, it wasn't the one who he expected to be. He looked at it. The other entity was a strange one. It was something he never saw before.
That entity gazed at him in confusion. It froze in place.
The prisoner quietly chuckled. He realised he had a unique opportunity. He told himself to be polite and kind, "Hello stran-" the door suddenly closed. He was quiet for a few seconds, before he yelled, "Hey! Open up you bastard! You can't just close the door to my face like that! Open that door and get me out of here! Do you know who I am?"
The door didn't open. The prisoner kept yelling at the other one.
Prologue: The Strange Cabin
The entity had his back on the door and put his hands on his forehead. He was a Caucasian teenager with long blond hair and pale blue eyes. He wore a white shirt and blue jeans. His back slid on the door and sat down. He looked around. He tried to ignore the thing he saw and kept yelling at him. It wasn't that easy.
"Open up the door or I'm going to shove… Something up your ass!"
"Forget about that… that thing," he told himself. The teenager looked around. The cabin was made of wood. Except that it was blue, "They surely paint it."
"The door! Open it! Don't even think I'll kiss your little ass for it!"
He blocked off the thing and stood up. He explored the cabin. There was a big table, one chair that was a little too big for him, or anyone he knew. The ceiling was pretty high. Except for that, there was a hammock, something that looked like that. It was a large rope attached by some silver rope, or something like that. He touched the tissue of the hammock, it was hard, as if it was made of rubber.
He sighed. The only other place he could check was behind the door, with had that weird thing. His gaze went at the window. It was way too dark outside of that cabin. Too dangerous to wander in the middle of the night, he guessed. The dark sky made him a little disoriented right now. He couldn't see many stars, even if there was no light pollution.
"P- Just open the door," the voice of the thing sounded hopeless. Maybe not, but it sounded like it was losing hope. The fury was gone and the voice lost some of its strength.
He put his hands on the door. The voice continued to ask him to open the door. The human took a deep breath and opened the door.
The thing was a purple thing with three clear magenta eyes. The three eyes looked right at him once again, "You took your time!" his hopelessness was gone and turned into irritation.
He wondered if he should close the door again and see if that thing would change its attitude. He didn't care for it and inspected the place. It looked like a cupboard. They were a few clothes and fingerless gloves. He continued his inspection. He needed to find something useful.
"What are you doing?" the thing asked.
He took a deep breath and decided to answer, "Searching for something useful."
"Won't find anything useful. That bastard who lives here has nothing of value," it replied.
"W-who?" he wondered. He went on, "I saw no one here."
"Really? How is it outside?" the thing in the box asked in an interrogative tone.
The teenager replied, "Dark. I can't see anything."
"The night… Weird. He should be here then. I always hear him leave when it's the day and he snore loudly during the night," the purple thing moved its magenta eyes at his direction, "Take me out. I need to see if The Sage is really gone."
"W-who?"
"The bastard who lives here," it growled.
He wasn't sure if he should comply or not. He was creeped out by the existence of that thing. He was also creeped out because that thing spoke English and he understand him.
"Take me out right now! Do you know who I am?"
"No," he nodded negatively. He realised that this simple 'no' was a great insult for the other being as the purple color turned brighter and the eyes shined even more.
"How can you not know who I am? I am known in half of this galaxy!"
The teenager paused when he heard galaxy, but couldn't ask anything in the matter.
"I am Kaiser! Emperor of half of this galaxy!" it declared.
The teenager wanted to know what was the name of the galaxy. It just gave him a bad feeling. He pointed at himself, "I'm William."
"I don't care about your name! Take me out right now!" Kaiser ordered.
William was so tempted to close the door. At the same time, he knew it was a bad idea. He was alone in this cabin and what that Kaiser told him, just made him feel really uneasy. It wasn't a good idea to antagonise him even more. He grabbed the cube and lifted it near his face, "Fine. Only because I have no idea what I can do."
"Don't go outside. I heard that bastard grumbling that those predators are vicious during the night," it told him.
"Great. Need to wait," he sighed. He checked one last time and brought the cube near the window. He looked carefully. He needed to ask that question, "You said this galaxy…" he hesitated.
"Get to the point."
"What galaxy?"
"Hum? Are you serious? Nothing can enter in this galaxy or go out? Everyone knows it!" he chuckled at how stupid that question was.
William grumbled a few nasty things under his breath. He went to his next question, "Is this the Milky Way?"
"Milky what now?"
"The name of the galaxy."
"You are an idiot or what? This is Cocoon Galaxy! Because we are in the cocoon!" he snickered loudly. He yelped when the block was dropped on the ground, "Watch it!"
The boy sat on the ground. He looked at the thing. He took a deep breath as he put his hands on his forehead. He closed his eyes. He tried to collect himself. His breathing lightly accelerated as he tried to take in.
"Hey!" the other one yelled. The thing eyes shined brightly. He noticed the other one seemed to take his answer badly. He hummed to himself as he thought about what the weird thing said. He focused on the new person in the cabin once again, "Hey! What's your problem?" he understood it, but needed the attention.
It took a while, but William eventually gazed at Kaiser, "Another… galaxy. I'm in another galaxy. How? It's got to be a dream. It has to be."
"It's not a dream! I ain't gonna accept to be a dream!" he furiously grunted at the other one.
The teenager pinched himself and winced. He looked around and was at the same place, "Definitely."
"The Sage has done something to you… He is gone and you are here," Kaiser grumbled. He wasn't that interested in, but it gave him an opportunity. However, he noticed signs that he might quickly lose that. He realised that he was ignored.
He carefully observed the one in flesh. He recognised signs of someone falling into panic. He could see in the shaking body and eyes that the mind of the other one spiralled out of control.
The purple being in the box knew that he needed to carefully choose his words. He thought back of the little bit he said and understood, "Hey!"
William didn't seem to notice him anymore.
Kaiser took a deep breath, even if he didn't need to breath. He searched for the right way to get his attention, "Don't," he was an emperor, "Be," He had the charisma to pick the perfect words for it, "An," he expressed it out, "AAAAASSSSSS!"
The other one winced as he looked at him, "W-what?" he sweated a little.
"Out of your thought. Finally," the purple thing wiggled a little as he looked around. He focused on the man, "I said that the Galaxy is called the Cocoon galaxy, while you name it the…"
"M-Milky Way."
"What you said. Anyway, I am the emperor of half the galaxy. That means that I don't know everything. Maybe your galaxy and my galaxy are the same. We just give different name. This galaxy had three different names in that half before I took full control of it," he twitched on the left as he hummed. He got his full attention now and chuckled, "If it's the case, I can get you back there."
"Y-you can?" he asked doubtfully.
"Well…" he remembered his current form, "Yes. With my knowledge, I can help you. You don't even know on which planet we are, right?"
"N-no. This… This isn't even the Earth," William admitted. He put his hand on the cube and lifted it.
"We can find a place with all the intel of the galaxy and find this…Earth."
"Why would you do that?" he suspiciously asked.
Kaiser wondered what would be the best answer. That peach being was the only way for him to move along. Not only that, but no one might ever come here again. This place was isolated. Only The Sage came and never really interacted with him for so many years. He lost track of time, but knew it was way too long. He answered, "Where can I go by myself?"
The teenager nodded. He could believe that, "Still…"
"If you are doubting me, then there is on way to convince you. As the emperor, I can never break a vow or promise made to someone. If I make it, you can believe me," he replied as he raised his eyes.
William was a bit suspicious, but it was his best chance. He nodded.
"I, Kaiser, Emperor of half of the Coccoon Galaxy, vow to help you find a way to return to your home planet named Earth… That's your home planet, right?"
"Right."
"As long as we don't find a way to get you back to Earth, I shall help you. I will never break my words; or I am not worthy of being an emperor. This is my second vow since I became emperor," he added to the other one.
That was a detail of unimportance for the human. Right now, that thing in the box was the only one who could help him. He got the feeling there was a catch somewhere, but now was not the time to call out on it. He told himself to be vigilant. He nodded, "Fine. I'll accept your help," he realised he sounded doubtful.
"That was the most important thing I can say! A vow! It's the second time I give one! It means that I don't just give it to anyone without a reason! You are an ass to not realise how glorious it is that I made a vow with you!"
"I wasn't trying to insult you. I just don't know you and…" he sighed, "How did I end up here anyway?" he wondered once again. He gazed by the window. It was still dark outside. He yawned quietly. Somehow, the entire situation exhausted him, "How long until the day come?"
Kaiser checked outside, "Fifteen hours before the sun rise. The red star is currently near the two white stars," he couldn't point at it.
William noticed the red star, but not those two stars, as they were a few in the dark sky, but they were a few around the red stars, "The days are really short," he concluded.
"Naw. During this season, unless the planet moved elsewhere, it's 26 hours of sunlight and 24 hours of starlight. Fifthly hour for an entire day."
"F-Fifthly?" he was taken aback.
"I suggest you get some sleep while you can. Because there is a long day tomorrow to reach the only city on this planet," the being suggested as he watched the darkness outside of the cabin, "You are going to need all your strength to reach it."
"Right," William couldn't disagree. He went to the hammock with the box and climbed on it. He rested on it. It was surprisingly comfortable. There was something in his mind that nagged him. He couldn't sleep well without finding the answer, "Kaizer… Where do you think that Sage is now? You say he has done something to me."
"Hum? Yeah. That bastard did something if you are far from your Earth. I guess he just switched place with you. I mean, it's the night and he never leave this cabin during the night. He is gone and you are here. That's the only conclusion."
"So… he's on Earth? Why?" he asked.
"How should I know? The Sage is a bastard and an asshole! He does what he wants and if he can't have what he wants!" Kaiser said nothing else as he turned around.
William easily guessed what he meant, but didn't press on. He closed his eyes as he tried to fall asleep. He felt like his heart hurt a little, as he wondered if what the purple thing in the box said was true or not.
Eventually, he felt asleep. As for Kaizer, the purple light diminished. He let out a quiet hum of satisfaction, as he was finally out of that room. Next, it was to take back what rightfully belonged to him.
An entity watched its surrounding. It lowered its back, as the ceiling was too low. It grumbled as its head hit the ceiling again. It stopped and focused on it's surrounding. Each of its four eyes blinked at unsynchronized rhythm. Each eye went into a different direction. It observed the strange shape and size of the bed, the thing that looked kinda like a computer and other things that he had a vague impression to recognise and strange things. The walls were made of something mysterious. However, he clearly saw that it was painted in an artificial beige color.
It raised its hand. On the palm of that large hand, rested a purple crystal, "It worked."
AC: This is the end of this prologue. Hope you like it.
Next: Onward to the city.
The sun raised and William went towards the city, while it was safe. With kaiser as his companion, he hoped to find a way back home.
