Aryus came back to her home. She landed her ship and quickly reached the door. She stopped there. Knowing Kaiser and Grex, there might be chaos inside of the house, "I hope they didn't break anything."
She opened and walked inside. She saw the four at the kitchen while the large buffed alien prepared something. She smirked as he only wore an apron and nothing else. His backside was clear to see for anyone.
"Do you really need to prepare things like that?" William grumbled.
"Again. Yes. It makes the food taste better," Grex grunted in annoyance as he added spices.
"Give up trying to change that jerk's mind. It's as hard as convincing something to stop smocking red dust," Kaiser grumbled as he watched television. He didn't need to eat.
The spy realised it was around dinner. She came back just in time to eat with them, "Hello everyone."
The four glanced at her.
"Welcome back," the human said first.
"You took your time," the teal alien grumbled, but he sounded happy she was back.
Kaiser approached her, "Did you find anything?"
Imiry sighed, but she nodded at her. She had a feeling the conversation was cut right out of her.
"Sure," Aryus replied, "I will give it during dinner."
Chapter 31: Smash And Shoot
The five were at the table. Four of them ate while the mud alien couldn't. They had a large potage in front of them with a lot of meat and little vegetables.
"Report?" Grex asked. He, thankfully, put his shorts on once he finished cooking.
Aryus took out a chip out of her bra and put it in front of the teal alien, "I got a lot out of that computer of his," she hissed, never giving the precision from who she got that intel, "It's in the file 'Danger In Check'. They have a plan on how to deal with your kind of the resistance goes out of control. A genocide is the short version," she began to consume her meal.
The buffed alien fumigated, but didn't offer a reply. It was clear that he was extremely furious about the thought of exterminating his people and maybe also his planet. He quickly drank his potage and munched the meat in his mouth. He couldn't finish everything that quickly.
William paled at the existence of such a plan. He felt suddenly cold when he remembered how dangerous this galaxy was. He felt quick safe in the house, despite the training. Now, just that simple word and he remembered how assassins could casually wander around or Kaiser casually suggesting to murder people for money. He forgot about his first days in this galaxy and it came rushing right back at him, "That's horrible. H-" he didn't dare to ask the question.
Kaiser did it, "How do they plan to do that? Orbital bombardment?"
"No. They know that using that would make the council look weak. The slaves who forced them to strike down from space would hurt their reputation. They decided to sent an elite squadron armed with special weapons that would… melt the bone structures of the Aleshan."
"Melt bones?" Imiry gaged for a second at the thought of such plan. She managed to keep it in.
The human managed the same, "The fuck! Melting bones!" he was horrified.
Grex quickly understood the plan, "We have a bit of unique bone structure compared to the rest of this galaxy. There is a certain unique metal in our bones that could make the rest of the bones melt when raised at an extremely high temperature, without melting that metal."
The emperor groaned, "If they plan to fight that dirty, this is war! We might not be ready, but-"
The orange alien told them, "They have no intention of using it yet. The council cannot reach an agreement with this plan. They need the twelves to agree in the matter, but half of them disagreed so far. That is also in the files. Zerka is quite pissed that his plan isn't accepted for now. However, if this situation prolonged, it might turn out that way. They need the totality of the council agreement before such weapon can be used, just like an orbital bombardment."
Imiry raised her hand, "Did he…"
"Tryent is against it so far," Aryus replied.
That brought a bit of relief in the heart of the other female alien. Her eye gazed at the chip, "I… I'll check it out later."
"Good."
Grex took a deep breath. He then finished his meal, "Once you are done William. We will train you. You will learn how to use close-range and long-range weapons. You need to get ready soon. My people lives are in danger."
"R-right," the boy nervously replied.
Kaiser declared, "And don't count me out. This is a serious mess we are in. Your people did a lot under the empire and you are their full potential."
The teal alien glanced at his emperor, "If you are this serious, then you know that training will be worse from now on."
"Yes."
William couldn't believe the large alien didn't complain about it. He guessed that the situation was serious and he might be quiet once training resumed.
The human stood corrected when the emperor was on his knees.
"You don't have to kick me that hard you fucker!"
Grex stomped the face and left a pool of mud where the head once was, "Yes. You need to master your body quickly and we will train battling against each other's. I'll begin with William. William, come with me. We will train you with weapons in the simulation," he guided the boy inside the virtual fighting room.
The two were inside of the room. William was a bit nervous at how the simulation would go.
"This simulation is a simple one. I will show you how to use some close-range weapons and long-range weapons. We will find the one you are the most compatible with. The main purpose is to defend yourself," the teal alien began his explanation as he began to type a scenario, "Once we are done with this, we will train your fighting capacity when disarmed."
"I'm not really feeling okay with… killing people," the teenager sighed. He knew he would have no choice soon enough. He could clearly see a war coming soon between Kaiser and the council.
"The main purpose is to defend yourself. We won't always be able to protect you. Kaiser cannot do the impossible with his current body. He learns much faster than he shows up."
"Yeah," the human gazed down.
A hand was on his shoulder, "William. We begin the training now. I'll show you the basic with some of the weapons and we will go from there. We have all of our time."
The room activated and they were in a virtual location. The two looked around. They were on a red field with only a few blue plants and a green forest in the horizon.
Grex raised his hand and held a staff on his hand. The staff was just a hologram, but it was blue and had energy beam at both side of the staff. He spun it with agility and pointed at the boy, "You won't feel a thing if I hit you with this. It's only on the other holograms. After this, we will test with blades. Observe and then it will be your turn," he looked forward, "Activate."
Three aliens that looked like humanoid squid appeared.
"Why squid?" William grumbled as he saw things like that way too often. He watched the teal alien as he charged forward. He didn't have to watch for long as after three hits, he beat the aliens that appeared. He could see he smashed to kill. He was amazed by the speed and the strength of the alien, but not the technique, "I… I miss everything," he admitted.
Grex stopped. He watched his staff and sighed, "I guess I went too fast. I'll show you without targets and you will repeat after me," he pressed on something and one staff appeared in the hand of the teenagers.
The buffed alien showed a thrust forward.
William watched the staff. It was strange that his sense of touch felt the weapon, "This is strange. I can feel it."
"Focus!" the alien ordered as he stood with all his height.
The human gasped as he looked at the alien, "Focus! S-sorry. Sorry."
"Repeat after me!" he ordered in a way that meant no more distraction.
The teenager followed his lead. His strike was weak and clunky at first. He thrusted, smashed and did a few other simple attacks. He was about to imagine something, but pushed it aside. He couldn't afford any distraction right now. Not when the gaze of the teal alien was on him.
Once it was done, the staff disappeared.
"Not bad. You lack strength and flexibility, but those can be remedied. Still," he scratched his chin, "I don't feel like this is the perfect weapon for you. We will find the right one first, specialised in it and expanded it to other weapons when we have time," he then summoned a sword in his hand with laser beam.
William quickly thought of that movie with light blade. He held one in his hand. His mind wandered for two seconds before he returned back to reality.
"This one, I will show you some moves and then see if we can go farther like before," Grex thrusted with his blade forward.
The boy did the same. They both struck and slashed in different ways together.
The teal alien stopped and chuckled lightly, "You seemed much better with a blade in your hand. We have a few others to test and then, we move with blasters and other long-range weapons."
The human asked, "By the way, what is Kaiser's training? I don't remember you told him anything."
Grex shrugged it off, "That's not important. He just needs to focus on mastering his body. He knows how to fight. He didn't try to get inside to give a piece of his mind. He is training… Probably," he clenched his hand, "And if he doesn't, his next training will be to reform his body as quickly as possible after I destroy it," his red iris shined a bit brighter after he declared that.
William chuckled a bit nervously.
The routine began as they trained with different weapons. When it came to guns, the human showed he was fairly good at this. The boy thanked his parents for showing him how a gun worked and his training with his grandparents. He should thank them in person once he was back home.
He saw targets that showed up and hit all of them. Not at the center, but he barely missed any of them on his first shot. When it came to weapons like a sniper or those which shot quickly, he wasn't as good.
"At least you know how to use a blaster of this caliber," Grex proudly commented.
"I did learn how to use a gun back home," he looked at the holographic blaster. It looked like a pistol. It just didn't have the hammer and the trigger had a strange firm, as if it was adapted for aliens with large fingers.
He learned how to use it just in case he might get in trouble when he was older. They had the right to carry a concealed weapon.
"We will now begin a battle simulation. It will be them vs us. That means we fight together. You will have your blade and the blaster. I wonder how you will fight by my side."
"Horribly," William admitted.
The buffed alien smirked as he materialised a staff and spun it in his hand. A large blaster also materialised on his back. He spun his staff with one hand as he began to prep their battle, "Nothing too complicated. I expect you to cover my back at minimal. Also, try not to accidentally hit me," he glanced at the boy, "This is not a test or an exam. This is for observation only."
"Okay. No pressure," he told himself.
"Still, don't hit me. In a real training, my emperor shot my ass… three times. I'm still sure two of those times were on purpose," he grumbled as he thought back on his younger years. He heard the human snickered as he tried not to laugh, "Don't do it."
"I won't."
"Now you can focus," he began the simulation.
In front of them, enemies began to materialise and the fight was about to begin. William hoped he could give a little bit of result.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next; Simulated battles Part 1.
William began the simulation of a fight with Grex and hoped he wouldn't suck so much.
