So I believe I found the character for the story thread I just set up in Dumb Animal who will have the dubious honor of being Ima LeZard's test subject also this is where I go into some ideas from my younger years when I discovered the works of Ladislas Starevich including one of his films called in English Fern Flowers which is based on an actual Slavic Myth

As you know the goal of the Mizzerans was to try to recreate the United States albeit by calling the equivalents of states 'Counties' and giving the Counties and towns/cities names that are plant/nature based names instead.

However there was no equivalent for the State of Texas because in the spot where the Texas equivalent was mostly large barren desert where nothing could grow...This was because many thousands of years before the Earthlings arrived there was a war between two different alien species one of which was the original Native species of Mizzer fighting off invaders and apparently that spot was the sight of a great battle that rendered the land barren…

So there were no actual towns of cities in this 'Great Barren Desert' as it was called but there were oil wells as there had been discovered vast quantities of oil underneath because the desert was so vast the various humans and Humanimal oil workers brought there families to live around the oil wells and thus were sprung up neighborhoods, not big enough to be towns who in the early years had to have supplies delivered to them because they could grow nothing there...But over the course of three thousand years since that area had begun being explored while the New Great Lakes were being constructed the hard diligent work of the Earthlings (Unknowingly aided by Humanimal magic as the Humanimals' bare feet...Or whatever slithering creatures have) has magic so they unknowingly blessed the land as they trod upon it so little by little plant life was slowly making it's way out of the Oklahoma Equivalent of Tumbleweed County into the very northern edge of the Great Barren Desert so much so that for the hero of our story a ten year old Rattlesnake-Boy named Raoul Rattler...They was a small patch of woods in walking...Or in his case slithering distance of his house!

Raoul was a very odd cub...And it seemed very lucky he lived in an odd place like these oil well communities separated from the rest of Mizzer Humanimal society because everyone who lived there was connected to the local oil well humans and Humanimals lived together and Humanimals that were normally in different districts were side by side...In this community Raoul and his family were the only reptiles as most of the other Humanimals were common domestic species like dogs, cats and pigs.

Because the community was so small school was just the house of an old human man a grandparent of one of the families so instead of 'Mister' the children called him 'Grandpa Kodinski' he taught the children reading, writing and arithmetic but he also gave them ample amounts of playtime (Which also gave him time to rest and snack so...It wasn't like it wasn't completely out of self-interest) as the older children grew he encouraged them to develop their own hobbies and to express their talents.

Raoul seemed to have a fondness for telling stories particularly weird or peculiar stories about spooky and supernatural things...A lot of his peers dismissed this with 'He's a Snake of course he likes weird and creepy things' but Grandpa Kodinski watched and listened to the Snake-Boy's tales with interest.

As Raoul grew he started putting more effort into his stories he started making paper dolls of his characters and would tape them to pens and pencils to put on puppet shows to anyone who would listen...His latest story he had just made up was called 'The Ghost Wacker' about a young human boy who wanders into the woods in the middle of the night...And encounters the Ghost of a mean old Governess and he wanders out of the woods the next morning with a very sore rear end…

Grandpa Kodinski watched all from his rocking chair on the porch and he stroked his beard with interest…

Finally when 'School' was over for the day and the kids and cubs were to go home to their respective families...Mr. Kodinski stopped Raoul

"I listened to your story today…" The Old Human Man said "...It was very interesting."
"At least someone likes my stories." The Snake-Boy sighed

"I think you just ahead of your time…" Mr. Kodinski said "...Most of the children here just aren't sophisticated enough to appreciate your style...But your tale today reminded me of a legend from the land of my ancestors...The legend of the Fern Flowers!"
"Fern flowers?" Raoul cocked his head

"The legend says they only bloom on the night of the summer solstice which should be coming very soon...And to one who ventures into the forest for it...They are beset by demons who will tempt them! But if they manage to get the Fern Flower...Treasure beyond their imagination awaits!"

So this would be my first Mizzer Humanimal story with a representative from the Reptile/Amphibian District as the protaganist
