There's a very false depiction in the big and smaller screens;

Where some innocents (with good intentions) get portrayed in scenes,

As dysfunctional in ways that aren't consistent with their traits;

Shown as psychopaths or murderers or other reprobates.

It's the entertainment medium advancing such a lie,

Using evil scripted slander, when they write a certain guy

As a terrorist or rapist or some narcissistic threat

To another person's safety. Then the viewers get upset.

It's to program rank hostility in every viewer's mind,

So that when they meet these innocents in real life, they're too blind

To believe the good intentions. And instead they'll pour out hate.

By the time they've seen a few such movies, it can be too late.

Well these innocents are Christians, whose gentility is how

They would share a Good News message, telling everyone that now

Is the time to get their ticket into heaven Jesus pays,

With His death upon the cross, and all His help to change our ways.

What on earth is so offensive in a Gospel such as this,

That the movie writers work so hard to make it look amiss;

With inaccurate creations of the characters they use?

There's a case for defamation, just as soon as someone sues.

Sometimes evil men pretending to be Christians HAVE done wrong.
But the church would disapprove of their behaviour all along.

They're NOT Christians, only liars, giving God a real bad name.

It's deplorable. Then every Godly Christian gets the blame.

So it happens in the fictions, and the real world sometimes too.

What's more tragic is society believing what's untrue:

That a follower of Jesus who is truly born again

Would participate in wickedness that's NOT for Christian men.
