Papercut

Hi there! Little SSJ 4 here, with a song fic…not
the usual fluffy romantic Anime fic, but a
dramatic horror fic. Very different from what I
usually write!

Disclaimer: I don't own Papercut by Linkin' Park.

The young girl ran to her room, sobbing
her heart out. Her brother chased her,
laughing gleefully when he saw fear
shining in her tearful brown eyes. She ran
into her room and slammed the door.
"Open up, baby!" he jeered as he tried to
push the door open, "I'm not finished with
you!"
"Leave me alone!" she shrieked as she
used all the strength she had to keep him
out.
"Open the door, Leigh!" he shouted.
"Go away! Harold, leave me alone!" she
pushed a table up against the door to
hold him out. She quietly crept towards
the window to escape, but before she
could do anything, the door was flung
open and the table fell on its side. Leigh
looked up in the dull, sunken-in face that
belonged to her father.
"LEIGH!" he roared. He was obviously
drunk. Leigh backed into the wall, her
face set in terror.
"What's wrong Leigh?" her drunken
father laughed, a low laugh, which
echoed round the room. "Come here,
now, you fucking brat," he ordered.
"No!" she said, petrified.
"DON'T ANSWER BACK!" he bellowed
and raised his arm. Leigh closed her
eyes and waited for the pain to strike. She
soon felt it, rising. She held onto her arm
and fell to her knees on the floor. A low
sob escaped her slightly parted lips as
tears rolled down her face. Harold and
her father roared with laughter, then left
her to cry pitifully. "What a baby," she
heard Harold remark.

~Why does it feel like night today?
Something in here's not right today.
Why am I so uptight today?
Paranoia's all I got left
I don't know what stressed me first
Or how the pressure was fed
But I know just what it feels like
To have a voice in the back of my head~

She got up and staggered over to her
mirror. She looked in the mirror and saw
the face of someone who used to be
beautiful. She looked like a ghost, her
chestnut brown hair disheveled and her
dark brown eyes sunken in her head.
She was thin, not just thin, but skinny and
her bones showed through her paper-
thin skin. When her mother was alive,
they were all happy. Her father never
used to get drunk and Leigh and Harold
were really close. But one day, horror
struck.
Leigh and her mum had an argument
about Leigh going to a party. Leigh had
shouted and cried until her mother, full of
guilt, agreed to drive her to the party.
Before they arrived at the party, a young
boy ran right in front of the car. Leigh's
mum had swerved to avoid hitting him
and had crashed into a large, old tree.
The tree trunk had fallen right on the car
and it had been totally destroyed. Leigh
had survived with only a few scratches
and a fractured arm, but her mother had
been killed.
Leigh could remember the funeral, but
what she remembered most was the way
her father and brother had looked at her.
Their looks were full of hatred. Leigh had
quickly turned her head, trying not to think
about it.
From then on, her father and brother
had treated her like shit. She was jeered
at by her brother, then her father used to
beat her up. They blamed her for her
mother's death; they accused her until
she broke down into tears.

~ It's like a face that I hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time I lie
A face that laughs every time I fall
And watches everything
So I know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is hearing me
Right underneath my skin~

She had no friends; she had lost all the
friends she had after her mother's death.
She was the 'strange, quiet kid' at school
and no one took any notice of her. No one
ever spoke to her and she was always
alone. She didn't care so much anymore,
she was used to it, but she remembered
how it felt at the beginning, she felt so
alone.
She tried not to cry again. She didn't want
to show that she was weak, she had to be
strong. But…she felt so alone…

~ It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin~

Night was approaching. Leigh quickly
changed into her pajamas, which consisted
of an old patched t-shirt and underwear. She
got into her bed and pulled the thin sheet on
her shivering body. They were poor since
her father spent most of their money on
alcohol, cigarettes- and drugs. Leigh had
spotted him smoking a joint once; it was a
miracle that he hadn't seen her.
Suddenly, she heard the door open. "Leigh,"
she heard a voice grunt. She shut her eyes.
It was her father.
"Leigh," he croaked. She tried to ignore him.
"LOOK AT ME WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!"
he screamed. He ripped the blanket off her
body. Leigh looked on in shock as he
stripped off her pajamas.

~ I know I've got a face in me
Points out all my mistakes to me
You've got a face on the inside too
And your paranoia's probably worse
I don't know what set me off first
But I know what I can't stand
Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is
I can't add up to what you can
But everybody has a face that they hold inside
A face that awakes when I close my eyes
A face watches every time they lie
A face that laughs every time they fall
And watches everything
So you know that when it's time to sink or swim
That the face inside is watching you too
Right inside your skin
It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin~

He stuffed a piece of torn material in her
mouth and pulled off his own clothes. Leigh
tried to scream as he started to touch her
body, laughing cruelly as he humped her. Her
screams were muffled as he pounded in her,
blood was running down her legs and she
couldn't stop screaming.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" he yelled as he
continued pounding in her. Leigh was silent,
praying that it would soon be over. She
couldn't take it, and broke down into tears.
Her father got up, nude and slapped her. He
then left. Leigh couldn't take it anymore.
Sobbing, she ran out her bedroom and
staggered into the kitchen. The inside of her
thighs was sore; her own father had raped
her!

~The face inside is right beneath your skin
The face inside is right beneath your skin
The face inside is right beneath your skin~

She held up a large kitchen knife. It gleamed
in the pale moonlight, which shone through the
window. She held it up, just above her chest.
"Goodbye to my useless and pathetic life," she
whispered. "Here I come Mum, I'm soon going
to be with you." She struck the blade in her
chest. Blood sprayed out, she fell on the
ground, dead. The knife was still in her chest
and blood was still running down her body.
Tears running out of her closed eyes mixed
with the blood.

~The sun goes down
I feel the light betray me
The sun goes down
I feel the light betray me
The sun goes down
I feel the light betray me~

Many people were at the graveyard that day,
discussing a child's suicide. It was a horrific
death, she had been found by her brother with
a knife in her chest. They soon all left, except
for one woman, who laid a bunch of pure white
roses on the grave, which read:

'LEIGH SIMMONS'
'1988-2001'
'REST IN PEACE'

~ It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back
It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin…~
