Chapter 1: Prologue

"There's nothing here.
All I know is that it's been like this as long as I can remember… but what is 'Time' and 'Memory,' anyway? How much 'Time' has passed since I came into being…. And how did I begin to exist in the first place? There is nothing… nothing can be born from nothing, and yet… here I am. Could it be that I am the embodiment of nothingness, and all this awareness is just a delusion?
No. I do not like that theory.
But what else could it be? What truly can exist in nothing? I suppose the simple answer is that I can… but once again, what am I?
Enough of this. Nothing can be gained from this mindless questioning. Oh, there is that word again; 'Nothing'! I wish I could think for one second (a measurement of 'time'?) without that accursed word coming up…
I want something…
I am lonely. I desire something… another being….
Or at least, I wish for something other than the nothing… I want….
There is an explosion…. It starts as a mere spark, but grows.. and grows… It never stopped growing.
Inside the explosion there is more nothingness. But it is a different nothing… There are small somethings riddled about.
'Time' seems to be moving incredibly fast… But I could be simply imagining things.
I will the somethings to come together. It is as if my every thought controls the conditions around me. The tiny things bash into each other and stick like that. Keep colliding, forming larger and larger objects.
The darkness now is more than I can bear. I will some of the masses to glow, and I see things with my eyes, not my mind, for the first time.
The light blinds my eyes, never before used, at first. But soon I get used to it, and sight gives me slight joy.
Only the largest of the objects were glowing, and many were too small to be able to store such energy. I bring myself up to one of the things. It is moving in circles around one of the glowing masses. Eight other masses are circling about that same 'Star,' as I named it then. The one I am viewing now has found favor in my mind, though I know not why. It is, for the most part, blue, although brown patches also are scattered about. And there is some white… this white moves around much more frequently then the blue and brown, which seemed to almost never move at all. This little ball intrigues me… I make myself smaller—or did I make the area around myself larger?—and get closer to the ball.
The blue moves frequently also, but in a way that can not be seen easily from far away. The blue—I named it 'water'—seemed different from the brown—which I named 'earth'—But I know not how to describe it. It moves whenever I touch it.. its face is always moving, always different from what it was just a second ago. The earth on the other hand does not move easily. It is almost always the same as it was before, with the exception of certain mounds which would spew out glowing orange 'liquid', as I shall call it, water, and everything else which behaves like such. I reach out to touch the orange liquid, but it is so hot, my hand gets singed from the heat of the area around it alone. This hot liquid cools after a small while and changes the surface of the earth around it.
I look about me.
This place is so barren.
I wave my hand about, and green things sprout out of the earth. I kneel over to inspect these things, and I realize that these things are alive, although not in the sense that I am.
But quickly, some begin to die. And I realize that these things need something… I call it 'air'.. but the air seems to have changed since I created these green things. Do these things change the air? If they do, then they will soon all die by changing their air too much. I can not let these things I have made be destroyed so quickly. I wave my hand again, and from the ground come other things. These are alive in another way. They move on their own and think and feel… there are so many different kinds, just like the green things. Unlike the green things, they do not share a color that all have somewhere on them. I call them 'animals.' I look in the water, and there are animals there too. And in the sky. These seem to reverse the effect the green things, which I will call plants, have on the air. And both begin to flourish.
But lo, I am still lonely!
I realize that although these things are alive, they are still so different from myself. So I create another animal. But this one is different. I call it 'human'. It is the most intelligent of the animals, and can feel a wider array of emotion. It is weaker than the other animals, but its cunning will allow it to live.
I am happy. Time still seems to be fast, and I can say that without doubt now, because the humans are going about their lives so fast, I can hardly keep up.
The humans soon create 'clothing', as they call it, to keep them warm. They build shelters and start to trade with each other. 'Civilization' comes into existence.
The humans call the non-glowing balls in the sky 'planets,' and name their planet 'Earth,' after the part of their planet they walk on.
I realize that so many things in this place have names, and yet I have none. I name myself 'Damon.'"

This was how it all came to be. Any other story you may have heard is incorrect. I, after over a million "years", still do not know how I myself came into being, but everything else was created from my loneliness. But soon I realized that the humans reproduced too quickly, and did not die until something, or someone, killed them. So I created the Angels of Death. After this, humans rarely lived beyond 100 years, usually less.
But even then, the humans became overpopulated, and many problems arose from this. So I created the Extermination Units, which, as their name stated, exterminated humans, usually those not fit for life.
But the Exterminators were almost as flawed as the humans were, and so I created the Supervision Units to watch them, and the Maintenance Units to fix the damaged ones, so to speak.
The material beings—Humans, animals, plants, etc.—lived on Earth, and I created another place, which the Units called "Home," for the nonmaterial deities to live in while not on Earth on duty.
And soon, all things fell into equilibrium. The Earth was, despite what the humans saw as flaws, absolutely perfect, and Home was the same. I decided that it may not be healthful for humans to know of my existence, so I allowed them to create and worship "Gods" other than myself.
But you are wondering, "If they do not know of your existence, then how did they relieve your loneliness?" Do not deny that you were thinking this. I see and know all.
The truth is, I took a human form quite often. Usually once every 2-4 years. Sometimes more. It gave me great insight into how my world truly worked and how the humans truly behaved. This also allowed me to teach the newer Units how to behave when posing as humans. I loved to pose as a human and mingle among that which I had created, so long ago. It gave me such delight, being able to watch my humans make what little I had given them into all they had now. Their technology grew, and soon the humans were able to transport themselves using their machines, fly, and so many other things. The technology was far more advanced than it is now. Why was there a fall in technology, you ask? Patience, silly human, for all will be explained to you by the time this tale is done.

Wheehee. Now, THIS is different, ne? A story in the first person! Yay. And I've got all that mystic creation gobbligook, too. Can't get better than that, no? Erm, okay, maybe no. But oh well...
The second chater for this is already DONE, but I will hold it for a bit. If I get at least ONE good review for this, I will contiue.
