Sanctuary
written by: artsydoll
The sky has never been so grey,
So dull
A ray of sunshine,
Shyly at first,
Then suddenly brazen,
Prods its way through the clouds
Leaving a golden shimmer
On the life below
So beautiful that it seems sorrowful
A ray of sunshine,
Perhaps a gilded pathway that you followed,
Clutching a one-way ticket to Heaven
Empyrean, a paradise,
Your place among the stars,
You will be received
With open arms
Your departure from this Earth was sudden
Untimely
Deeply missed,
You will forever be in the hearts
Of the many people whose lives you touched
You are an inspiration...
God bless you,
Rest in peace...
Author Notes: This is dedicated to my sister's
4th grade teacher, who fought a long, hard battle
with cancer and touched many lives. She will never
be forgotten. What did you think of this poem?
Please review! I appreciate it so much!
Thanks,
