A New life has just begun….
No one tells you how to be a mum
It’s been Practiced since days of old,
This is the Hardest Story Ever told
The Prologue you already know,
You didn’t need a guide, you just went with the flow.
That little, wondrous Bouncing Bundle of Fun,
Has entered the world , That was Chapter one..
Chapter Two is much the same,
The child’s so quiet you can’t complain,
But this never lasts, Wait and see.
A Couple of days later and it’s chapter three.
Screaming and crying at the worst of times
Making nappies smell like that seems a capital crime,
What happened to that Quiet thing you adored,
Uh Oh! Here comes chapter four!
The Child is Mobile! The Child Gets bored,
The Child has tantrums if left ignored,
That bundle of Fun has come alive,
The child gets more noisy with Chapter Five.
First Words are Spoken, Baby Speak is now dead.
The Calling for ‘Sweeties’ is what you’ll come to dread
Phew! Toilet training is now in the mix,
But you’ll get a rest in Chapter six.
Chapter six sees school and the making of friends:
Smelly kids with no manners, you’ll probably be at wits end,
But the friends get better and you’ll be in heaven,
When they go out to play in Chapter Seven.
School carries on, as it always did,
Exams affect your little kid,
If the child does , It’s the teachers you’ll hate
Don’t worry they’ll get new ones in Chapter eight
A New school and new pressures affect the child,
Mood swings occur (and they get pretty wild)
Those friends get important (and come back from time to time
But they’ll meet special friends in chapter nine.
Bike sheds and Parks are where they’re found,
Yes the Opposite Sex seem all abound,
But who sorts it all out when they’re dumped yet again? ?
Yep, Poor old Mum. On to chapter ten
Two Weeks of Stress an eternity waiting,
Several bouts of Parent Hating.
Whatever the results, they’ll give you hell
Choices abound at Chapters Eleven and Twelve.
Poor old mum finally gets a rest,
When the Chick finally leaves the nest.
The child says “sorry For being so wildâ€
