Spider trap spins this ugly web
that has entangled the fly
It struggles and splutters to escape
but freedom has passed it by
Space is near and yet so far
The floss is keeping it down
And when its wings stop fluttering
It dies away, so silently, without a single sound.

You all know about flies and webs
and what spiders use to trap
But have you realised the pain of a fly
When it's sucked of its sap?
Its wings are broken off and tossed to one side
Its limbs plucked from its body
And when it becomes the victim of the spider
Are you going to say you're sorry?

And finally the fly loses its breath
And lies dead amidst its strife
And how you could excuse it
Simply because "it's the story of my life"?
