Intoxication
written by: artsydoll
I always was his big distraction,
His damsel in "distress"-
Who never needed his hand to pull her out
She could handle it herself
My relations to an
"Independent Woman"
Have disconcerted he and I
Fondled like his kitten,
Longing for liberty
I'm the slave of a slave
Whose rule of thumb lacked desire
His deceptive eyes,
The windows to his shallow soul
Held no adoration anymore
Hence our gradual loss of communication
And the execution of my sovereign
The somber intoxication
Driving me to doom
Packages of razor blades
Align the walls of an empty room
To be amputated from your best friend
Never again to look him in the eyes
Or see his dismal face again
The provider of my spiderwebs,
He took everything,
Except my senseless locket
And no heart left with to feel
Ditching the cookie-cutter,
Superficial,
Self-obsessed person
He turned me into
Detained my suspect
For questioning
And kicked him to the curb
Imprisoned and shunned
For years to come
His deathless sentence still to serve
Author Note: This poem took me longer than usual
to write. It's one of my favorites. I just sat down and wrote. Yeah, it's
yet another one about my ex-boyfriend, but let me tell you...revenge is sweet
and it's coming Saturday night at the dance...hahahahahaha.
