Will expose all my bad deeds, hidden in night.
I reach out to find You, but holler in pain:
The Light hates the darkness but burns me instead.
But You see my struggles and feel my hurt,
And somehow, in me, You see something that's worth
Absorbing my pain, and taking my debts
Even though it means death for you...
You protect me from judgement that's due me,
You throw your loving arms around me,
You shelter me from the rage of the storm,
And I am safe.
In your arms I feel like a little child,
not yet scarred and broken by life.
There is calm and safety, rest and hope;
I have Joy that blows away my strife.
Life hurls its insults; it pushes me down;
I fall, but You pick me up off of the ground.
I am still, for I know You are God.
