The Untouchable

Looking through the darkness

Past the thick bars of steel

Farther than the shadows at the corners

I see you.

Enshrined in a shaft of light

Following wherever you go

Driving distinctly

Between you and I.

I try to reach you

To touch you

To feel you with me

But the harder I try

The farther you go.

So I sit here

Waiting, wanting

Loving you from a distance

Giving to you freely

My life

There, in the palm of your hand

Yet you know nothing of it

Nothing of me.

All because you are

The Untouchable.
