Epilogue.

"You should rest."
Damon looked up at Deus, who was standing in front of his desk.
"When did you come in here?" Damon asked.
"I have been in here for at least ten minutes, Sir," Deus replied, "See, this is why I said you need rest."
Damon sighed. "I have much work to be done, Deus. So much…"
Deus just gave him one of those glares that your mom gives you when you won't go to bed when you're sick.
Damon stood up. "Alright, alright…"
Deus smiled a little. "Good. I have been worried for you, Lord."
"Why so?"
"You have not been well since… well… since Dorcia… since she—"
Damon nodded. He knew it was hard for Deus to remember it, too. "It was a tragedy for both of us, my friend."
They arrived at Damon's resting quarters. Damon opened his door.
"Thank you for caring about me, Deus," Said Damon.
"It is my job, Sir."
Damon shook his head. "No. It is not your job to care for me, that is just something you chose to do."
Deus smiled. "So it is."
"And it is something that… that Dorcia never did. Thank you."
Deus nodded. "She is gone. Someday you will feel better."
"As will you."
Deus' smile melted away. "Sir…"
"I can make another, if you like. But another sister really would not be the same as Drei.."
Deus shook his head. "No… For the time being, I… I would rather be alone."
Damon nodded. He understood. "Well then, I think I shall be getting some of that much-needed rest, now. I will see you in the morning."
Deus bowed a little bit. "Yes, Sir."
And Damon went into his room, laid down on his bed, and fell asleep.
Deities never dream. Did you know that? They never do.
But maybe I shouldn't say never.
Because Damon dreamt.
He dreamed of a magnificent deity. Something powerful. Something higher than him. Something superior.
He knew not if this was a dream or a vision or what, but he felt immensely humbled, and immediately fell to his knees and bowed down.
The deity spoke. Its voice sounded like that of a goddess. "That was a very close call, Damon."
He looked up at it. "Y- yes. I know."
"I am very proud of the way you handled it."
"Th-thank you."
"But please, do not let it happen again."
"I shall not."
The deity became more visible, and on her face was a warm smile. "Good. I was worried."
And with that, Damon woke up.
