Light in the Dark
by Queen of Sarab

The blackest night
Bathed in ebony
Cannot hold the depths of my soul
Nor capture the essence of my spirit
But it traps my body
Teases my brain
And leaves me beating
Shrieking
Against a hard brick wall
Hoping for a tiny crack
A sliver of light
To thaw the ice
Encasing my heart

Be my light
And I'm yours
Simply say the words
And I'll come
But forget me
Stare through me as
If I'm invisible
And the ice will spread
And I might just fade
Into a phantom
Of the girl
You once knew
Too alone
Too chilled
Too afraid
To truly live
