6The Terror from Within ~ Chapter two: Someone on the loose
The thumping suddenly stops. You stare at it blankly not knowing what to do. If you open it something will probably jump at you. If you let it go, it probably wont stop or try another way around. You start to feel chills. Silence rules for seconds, too much silence. Unexpectedly the doorknob starts rotating by itself bit by bit… little by little… inch by inch… You hear it creaking slowly trying to reach its tip. Your heart starts beating faster again, you actually listen to it. You unexpectedly act on your instincts and place the upper lock. It stops realizing what you just did followed by a loud thud from a madman trying to get in. Then it ends. And you hear light footsteps move in another direction.
You take a deep sigh of relief. And pray for this “thingâ€
