Through the lengthening shadows of twilight
A myriad of tiny flames ignite,
Burning into my soul
Like pale green infernos.

The chill air is split
By a clear, haunting melody,
Growing into a chorus,
Filling my heart with its beauty.

From the stillness of the night
Comes the thunder
Of many racing feet,
Pounding fear into my mind.

As the silver moon rises
I'm caught up
In a swirling, green-tinged, gray-black hurricane
Surging across the wilderness.
