1 My Secret Place

After the long cycle ride,

Through roads of,

Old Victorian houses,

Intermingled with new,

Houses and shops,

Up the winding lane,

To our secret place,

With a wood and fields,

A small bridge over,

The stream so cool,

And crystal clear,

Bringing back all,

The many memories,

Of paddling with friends,

Giggling with joy, splashing,

Feet running over,

The smooth, round pebbles,

Sunlight dappled through,

The green canopy of leaves,

An escape from the world,

Your home and school,

Just forget everything,

And wander away.
