2 years later
It was December of 2004 and Olivia and Dallas were in their second year of college. They both got into NYU. Olivia for her writing, and Dallas for his football. They were living together in an apartment off-campus.
They had gone to Europe after graduation as planned, and had the time of their lives.
At the time, they're on their winter break from school and sitting on their bed in their little apartment talking.
Dallas cradled Olivia in his arms as she leaned back on his chest.
"I love you baby," he whispered.
Olivia smiled. After two years, a tingle still shot through her body as he told her that.
"I love you too," she replied.
She turned around to face him and he grabbed her hands and laced his fingers through hers.
He gave her a kiss and whispered, "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
She rested her forehead on his chest and took in his scent. She always would love the smell of his cologne.
"Livvy, baby, look at me." She looked up. "I have something for you," he said.
She looked confused, but said okay.
Dallas reached over the side of the bed and picked up a bright blue box.
Olivia looked at it. "What is it?"
Dallas laughed. "Open it up, silly, and find out."
"O-okay."
She took the lid off the box and pulled out a light brown teddy bear. Her favorite. They bear had a silver chain around its neck.
The chain had a little silver heart on it that said, "I love you." Olivia smiled.
"Baby, look deeper into the box," Dallas said.
Olivia looked into the box and pushed pieces of tissue paper away and found a small, purple velvet box at the bottom. She swallowed.
Dallas reached in and pulled it out of the box. He held it in his hands and looked into Olivia's eyes.
"Livvy, I love you so much. You're the best thing I've ever had in my life, and I want to keep you in my life. Forever. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Tears sprung to Olivia's eyes and streamed down her cheeks.
"Olivia, will you marry me?" he asked.
She threw her arms around his neck and laughed and cried at the same time. "Yes! Yes!" she exclaimed. "I will! I'll marry you!"
Dallas laughed and wrapped Olivia in his arms. He placed his lips on her and kissed her passionately.
"I love you Dallas."
"I love you too, sweetie. You think you'll be able to survive staying with me forever?"
She gave him a quick kiss and smiled. "I think I'll manage."
He smiled at her and slid the platinum diamond ring onto her finger as he once again cradled her in his arms.
