I hide from sun's oppressive rays
Locked within my air circulated box
Looking out the window at the steamy horizon
Wishing to be out once again
But to avoid the intense heat
The dizziness of running through
The humidity that never ends
I wait until the sun hides
When the fireflies dance about
Lighting up when they please themselves
And when stars emerge slowly
The moon takes on its own brightness
When the humidity subsides
I once again enter the out of doors
To enjoy my friends
The wispy trees, stretching to the clear night's Cloudless skies
Warm tickling grass under bare feet
And quieter voices so not to disturb the
Midsummer night, where I am at last at peace
