How have we come to this? So drifted away, From the morals we started with? So easily sway.
How can freedom of speech, Mean stabbing our country in the back? A right to not say the pledge? Or a right to slack?
What a joke to say we are American, And turn our backs on the flag. What a joke to hang it in our windows, And worship Satan's rags.
United we Stand! We rant and rave, Liberty and Justice! Unity we crave.
And as we fight for freedom, We rebuke our first soldiers, With religion their only goal, Are now but frustrated molders.
It is now offensive to say "Amen", In a public place, What is on our dollar? In God we trust, now a court case.
I a teen am uncomfortable, To read this poem in front of you, I am afraid to lose my respect, Nut if this is what I must do.
How do you think those pilgrims, Who first landed here, With final freedom from Britain, Would appreciate what we've done here.
Crime runs rampid, Premarital and Homosexuality are excepted, As long as its done safe of course, Satan has taken over, I except it.
But don't you think, It would do us all some good, To stop thinking about just ourselves, And make our fathers proud.
I conclude this poem, With my prayer to all of you, Don't let your life and freedom slip away. But make it count, think of all you are free to do.
