Chapter XIII - Kev
Just as the third movie begins, Jay walks in and hits the stop button.
"I told you, we wouldn't have enough time." I glare at Garrett.
He shrugs innocently.
"Trust me, what I have for you is better than any Mighty Ducks movie." Jay tells me and he points to the doorway.
I stop and stare. This is too good to be true. No way in Hell. It's an illusion. He's an illusion. But, no . . .the blond hair, green eyed boy that I've been missing for so long is standing right in my doorway.
"Kev!" I run into his arms for a huge hug.
"Oh, Els," He whispers into my hair. "It's so good to see you."
"I've missed you so much." I tell him. "No one here can replace you."
"I'm glad to hear that." He laughs.
"Elly . . ." Jay's voice pulls me back to reality.
"Oh, right. Sorry." I say, as Garrett puts his arms around me.
"Garrett, this is Kevin, my best friend. And Kev, this is Garrett, my . . ."
"Boyfriend." Garrett finishes for me.
"Right." I giggle nervously.
Yes. . . I giggled . . . I know hard to believe.
"Nice to meet you." Garrett shakes Kevin's hand.
All three boys are looking at me with rather amused expressions on their faces.
"Oh, Jay," I throw my arms around him. "This is the best present ever! Thank you!"
"Mom and Dad paid for it." He tells me.
"Come on, Kev. Let's put your stuff in the guest room." I grab his hand and start to lead him up the stairs.
And as we're going up, I can't help but overhear a conversation going on downstairs.
"Don't worry too much, man, she's just excited because Kevin's here." I hear Jay say.
"Or I'm just easily forgettable." I hear Garrett's voice, quieter than usual.
And my heart stops for a minute, but I don't turn around and I don't go back to Garrett. What am I supposed to do? Kev's only here for a short time, time I don't want to waste. And, besides I can't help but remember what happened last time I fell too deep.
A/N: Sorry for the long wait, I had a lot of college stuff, and sorry this chapter is so short.
