Yukino the Goddess of Love Chapter One: Chosen to be a Goddess

by DuskyEyes

It was the first day of high school for Yukino. The day she would feel like a real teenager. She was looking forward to this day for almost a week now. She had planned to get up in time and everything but...

Yukino's eyes opened slightly. It was all blurry at first, but then she saw it a little bit clearer. She saw something red and white. She heard a strange ringing through her head. It was itching through her ears. "What's that awful noise?" she thought rubbing her eyes. Then the sound cleared up and she heard that it was her alarm clock. It continued ringing and Yukino found it very annoying. "Oh, it's only that stupid alarm clock!" she thought. Yukino reached out her hand trying to find the clock. When she found it, she whacked it with her hand so that it stopped ringing. "Ah" she thought. "Finally some peace and quiet" Her eyes felt like heavy blocks forcing her to close her eyes. She yawned and fell back asleep holding her white and blue pillow tightly. It felt so warm and soft.

After a while she opened her eyes and looked at the clock. At first she just closed her eyes again and tried to fall asleep, but then she realized that something was not quite right. "Something's very, very fishy" she thought. "Wait a minute! Isn't this the day I start high school?" She then jumped up and took a closer look at the clock. "Oh no!" shouted Yukino as she threw her cover off. "I'm late for school!" Yukino jumped out of her pajamas. She felt the cold air run across her naked body and shivered slightly. Yukino pulled out some clothes from her drawer and dressed herself up. Then she just ran out the door and slammed it. She ran down the stairs. It sounded like a bunch of elephants that were running for their lives from a bunch of hungry tigers. She ran into the kitchen and grabbed her lunch bag and kissed her mother good-bye. "Oh, you're...awake" said her mother. But it was too late. Yukino was already halfway out. The only thing she got as an answer was a slamming door.

Yukino ran through the streets and didn't care if the traffic lights were red or green. She ran over the street and a car came driving and had to hit the brakes to prevent an accident. The wheels made a loud screech and the car turned around. "Hey!" shouted the driver. "Watch out you twit!" "Sorry!" answered Yukino. "I'm in a hurry! No time to talk, sir!" "I can see that!" said the driver. "Look at your..." Yukino was too much in a hurry to listen to the driver, so she ignored him and continued running. She felt cold air run through her body. It felt as if it was an autumn day. "Cold, isn't it?" she said. "That's odd. It doesn't look at all cold to me" Yukino didn't have the time to figure out why it was so awfully cold, so she just continued running down the streets hoping that she would reach school soon. No teacher would want to have a late girl as their student, would they?

When she reached school, it was empty. There wasn't a single soul on the yard. They must've already gone to their classes. She felt the cold wind run over her face. Silence surrounded her. The only thing she could hear was her own heavy breathing after all that running. She felt a bit strange when she had entered the school. "Oh no!" she cried. "I'm really, really late!" She ran into the school and stood there in the hall looking around. "Now where is the...billboard?" she asked herself. Suddenly she saw something on a wall with lots of paper on. "Oh, there it is!" she said. "But it sure doesn't look like a billboard" Yukino ran over to the billboard and looked at all the names. It was a long list of names. There were thousands and thousands of students on this school. "Well, it wouldn't be too hard flow along with the crowd without being noticed too much!" thought Yukino while she gazed at all the names. She then suddenly hits her herself on the head. "Oh!" she exclaimed. "I've got to hurry! I forgot that I'm late!" She pointed her finger at all the names to find her own. "Kino...Yukino!" said Yukino happily. "Here it is! Kino, Yukino!" She then poked her finger at her name and followed the line...Haio, Gingei, Room 16, Floor 3?" "Is Haio, Gingei going to be...my teacher?" asked Yukino. "It sounds very familiar, actually." Yukino looks around and shrugs and then looks at the name again. "Oh well!" she said. "If he's my teacher, than he's my teacher!" She runs through the hall and reaches some stairs and climbs them as fast as she can. When she reaches the third floor she runs through the corridor looking at the door numbers. "14...15...16!" she said. "Here it is!" She opened the door quickly and ran inside slamming the door after her. "Good...morning" she panted. "Sorry...I'm late" Suddenly a lot of faces turned towards Yukino. Some guys blushed, but tried not to look at her. Some girls started to whisper something to their neighbors and then giggled. Yukino placed her eyes at her teacher. The teacher of hers was a young man in his twenties, he just stared at her from top to toe wondering who it was. He blushed slightly. "Ahem..." he said looking away. "You should take a look at yourself. The ladies room is across the hall to the right" Yukino looked at herself, she was only dressed in her teddy underwear, a blue skirt with an untied ribbon and a white, silky unbuttoned blouse. She threw herself to the floor trying to cover herself. Her other classmates burst out in laugh and started to point at her. Yukino felt like as if it was the end of the world. The heath came up to her cheeks and she tried to hide it by covering her face with her hands. A handsome looking guy stood up and laughed loudly and threw his hair back. He had full lips, blonde hair, light blue eyes, and milk white skin. But he looked cruel, so cruel that Yukino could nearly hate him, even if she didn't know him. Suddenly he opened his mouth. "You better dress up or the principle will throw you out for stripping!" said the guy. "Hush up, Lauren!" shouted the teacher. "Now sit down!" "Yeah, yeah!" said the guy named Lauren. "Was just wanting to have some fun, that's all!" "Maybe she doesn't think that's fun?" said the teacher. The guy just shrugs and sits down and continued laughing with his friends. She could nearly hear what he told his friends. How silly she was, how idiotic, how... Yukino felt tears in her eyes, but held them back the best she could. Then she heard some steps walking towards her and she looked up. The teacher looked sweetly at Yukino and smiled. His sky blue eyes shone like stars that Yukino got nearly lost when she looked into them. "Now..." said the teacher. "My name's Gingei, I'm the teacher of this class. I think it would be best for you to go to the ladies room. Now, you can go home and I'll call you...you're name's Yukino Kino, am I right?" "But how did you..." said Yukino. "Oh, I have my secrets" interrupted Gingei and winked his eye. "I'll tell you what we did today at school and you can catch up later on, okay?" "Okay..." said Yukino and tried to smile. Gingei puts a hand on her shoulder and leads her out of the room and smiles. He shuts the door slowly and talks to the class again as if nothing had happened. Yukino looked in through the glass window. He was so kind and gentle to her, unlike that blonde guy, Lauren. She closed her eyes and tried to memorize how he looked. "Red lips, sky blue eyes, slightly colored skin, brown thick hair" she thought. "And that voice...I know that I've heard that voice somewhere before. But I don't know where. But he's so cute!" Yukino blushed even only when she thought of him. "What a strange feeling!" she said happily and covered her cheeks with her hands. "I feel butterflies in my stomach!" She started walking down the long hall and looked back. She felt as if she was walking through the tunnel of happiness. She could see a bright light in front of here, which wasn't there before. But she didn't notice it much. "Could this be...love?" she asked herself. She then covers her cheeks with her hands and shakes her head. "Nah!" she said to herself. "It couldn't be! I mean...I've never loved anyone before...unless..." Yukino just hits her head lightly and walks out the door. Steps echo through the hall and softly fade away.

She stood outside of her house with her back against the door for a while. She sat down leaning her head backwards. She then closes her eyes. "I still feel the butterflies in my stomach!" she said while touching her stomach. "When will it end?" She then stood up and turned around. "I hope mum will not notice" she said to herself. Then she took a grip around the doorknob and turned it around and walked inside. A noise from the kitchen was heard. It was her mother singing while cooking dinner. Yukino felt the scent of fried chicken with rice. "Mmmmm..." thought Yukino. "It's fried chicken...yummy..." Her stomach was growling. She hadn't eaten any breakfast yet, and her lunch bag was left uneaten at school on the classroom floor. She had forgotten the bag there because of the embarrassment. She closed the door slowly and walked slowly through the hall. She stopped at the opening to the kitchen. She took a glimpse into the kitchen and saw the large chicken. She licked with her tongue around her mouth. Her stomach started growling again. Her mother just then turned to the kitchen opening and saw Yukino. "Already home?" her mother asked looking out of the kitchen. "That was quick!" Yukino didn't answer, instead she climbed the stairs and walked slowly into her own room, she had too much to think of right now. "Huh?" her mother said and scratched her head. "What did I do wrong?"

Yukino lay herself down on the bed and closed her eyes. She was still very tired, she was up late watching Love Channel, and didn't get much sleep. A loud yawn escaped her mouth. "Why did I go to bed that late yesterday?" she thought for herself. "I shouldn't have listened to Love Channel last night" After a while a bright light covered the room. It itched in Yukino's eyes and she couldn't fall asleep. Yukino opened her eyes and sat up looking around the room. The light blinded her eyes so that she couldn't see what was going on. "What the...?" she said. The she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. It was a warm, but still an unpleasant hand, like if it was a...goddess hand. The hand was filled with only love and not even a glimpse of hatred nor jealousy at all. But the thought just made her frightened. "Waaaaah!" she screamed and jumped off the bed. "Don't be afraid..." a voice said. Yukino stopped screaming and tried to figure out who it was. The voice was so familiar. She knew she had heard the voice before...but when? It felt as if it was for a thousand years ago. "Huh?" she said turning around to look at the person. "Who are you?" The person smiled gently. The person had so much love in her eyes. Yukino could feel it. She had a good soul and wasn't here to harm Yukino. She felt safe with this person and decided to trust her. But she also wondered how she could feel this strong feeling? Two very strange feelings on one day? "I'm Cillia, the goddess of love" answered the person. "LOVE GODDESS?!" exclaimed Yukino surprisingly and fell backwards. "Yes" said Cillia. "I was sent here to make you the new love goddess" "ME?!" exclaimed Yukino "A LOVE GODDESS?!" "Don't you want to be a love goddess?" asked Cillia confusingly. "Why me?" asked Yukino. "Why can't you ask somebody else?" "Because you are chosen to be the ultimate goddess of love to bring true love together and teaching others to love and..." said Cillia. "Hey!" interrupted Yukino. "Isn't that a little to...responsible?" "Yes but..." answered Cillia. "But I can't have that kind of responsibility all by myself!" interrupted Yukino again. "I'm just a kid!" "HEY!" shouted Cillia. "LISTEN HERE GIRL! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A GODDESS, SO BE IT! I'VE GROWN TO OLD TO KEEP THE JOB! OR I'D RATHER KEEP IT THAN GIVE IT TO SOMEONE LIKE YOU! NOW JUST TAKE IT AND SHUT UP! OH! I REGRET GIVING...OH! HERE'S YOU'RE THINGS AND...AND...AND GOOD BYE!" Cillia threw a bag of things to Yukino and then disappears taking the bright light with her. Yukino's eyes lets out a yellow glow but disappears immediately. Yukino gets the bag in her head and falls backwards. "Ouch!" screams Yukino." "What the heck is going on up there?!" shouted her mother from downstairs. "Oh, nothing, mother!" answered Yukino and threw the bag on her bed. She hears her mother grumbling something unhearable. Yukino goes over to the door and locks it and then goes back to her bed laying herself down again. She sighs and closes her eyes and falls into a deep sleep...

Yukino sees herself in a strange looking outfit, short silky white skirt, short silky white top, silky white tight boots, her hair tied up in two pigtails with two silky white large ribbon and she notices a white and gold ring on her finger. She feels pure love through her body. The feeling is so strong that it could make her cry. She also sees a dark shadow float in the sky. A mans shadow. He lifts his hand to the moon and...

The phone ringing wakes Yukino up. She turns her head to the watch, it's 19:43. She lets out a loud yawn and stretches herself. She then picks up the phone. "Hello?" said Yukino. "Who is it?" "Hello!" said a familiar voice. "It's me, Gingei!" Yukino shone up and her eyes glittered yellow with excitement. "Yes Gingei?" she asked. "What is it?" "I've called to tell you what you have for homework" answered Gingei. Yukino's eyes stops to sparkle. "Oh" she answered. "Okay"

Yukino hangs on the phone. "So much homework in the beginning of school?!" exclaimed Yukino. "This is torture!" She lay back on her bed and covers her face with her pillow. She threw her pillow off and takes a look at her right. She notices a bag. "What's in this bag?" she asks herself curiously. "The only way to find out is to take a peek!" She zips up the bag and sees...a short silky white skirt, a short silky white top, a pair of silky white tight boots and...and a large silky white ribbon! "OH, NO!" she screams. "So this wasn't a dream?!" She starts to walk around in the room in circles. "What shall I do?" she said tapping her finger against her chin. "Tell me what to do! Somebody, anybody! Just tell me!" Yukino collapses to the floor and starts to cry. "Why me of all people?" she asks. She then hears a voice run through her head, the same voice the woman had. "You must become the new love goddess" said the voice. "You must..." "OKAY!" shouts Yukino. "Okay! Okay! I'll do it! Just stop it, stop it!" Yukino starts to breathe heavily as she walks to the bag. She picks up the things and puts them on slowly one by one. She then notices something shining in the bottom of the bag and picks it up. "What's this?" she says. "Oh! It's a golden ring with...with a white pearl?" The ring starts to glow yellow and starts to burn against her fingertips. "Ouch!" she cried. "It hurts!" Yukino drops the ring to the floor and lets it lie there. The yellow light fades away. She puts her fingers in her mouth and starts to run around in her room. "I will never touch that ring again!" she cried. "And..." She then looks at the ring again curiously. "But it's so pretty..." said Yukino. "I must put it on!" She bends down to pick up the ring again. It starts to glow and burn. Yukino feels the pain through her fingertips, but tries to stand it. She slowly slides on the ring and the feeling of great pain flows through her finger and out to the rest of her hand. "Aaaah!" screams Yukino. "It hurts! It hurts!" Yukino feels the burning spread out through the rest of her body. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaah!" screams Yukino and faints. "Brave Yukino" said a voice. "Our brave Yukino" Bright light engulfs the room...
