Love was the greatest. Love was something he had been without. The love of a lover, that is. He had the love of his family, his friends, and God. But he wanted something more. The thing he'd never had before, a serious relationship. He was gay, and he wanted a serious boyfriend badly. Sure, he had plenty of boyfriends, more than he could count actually. But no one he could call a first love.

He felt like love was passing him by. He couldn't stand it! He wanted a lover so badly! He didn't like the fact that his friends had serious boyfriends all the time, and he didn't. He was sick of praying and begging to God to set him up with a serious boy. He was beginning to think that he was going to have to take matters into his own hands.

He knew he was hot. Even though he was slim, probably around one hundred and twenty pounds with an ounce of any flab or un-worked muscle anywhere. He stood five foot eight inches tall and had wheat golden blond hair and jungle green eyes that twinkled with mischief. His skin was a beautiful golden bronze color that made him look like he spent his life at the beach, which he did a lot. He had long legs and a broad chest with nice, muscular arms, a dazzling smile, and perfect posture.

He dressed well, and looked good in just about all styles of men's clothes. He was wild and racy; he lived life for the moment. He hung out with only the popular and most cool people in his school and was seen at all the "had to be there" events. He loved being the center of attention and most of the time thought the world revolved around him, sadly enough, it did. His personality description would be snobbish, convincing, hotheaded, mischievous, flirty, smart, vivacious, and sophisticated. In his relationships with boys, he fit the feminine role.

He currently sat in his listening to Nelly and gossiping on the phone with his best friend, Kyle Merris. They were chatting away about all the things going on in school and pretty much around the area of Honolulu that they lived in. He glanced at the clock and thought it might be a good time to go to bed. He said his good night to Kyle and hung up the phone. He was very exhausted after the party Carson had thrown.

He went down to the kitchen, got a glass of ice water, went to the bathroom and made himself ready for bed, put on his pjs and turned off his stereo. He then picked up his Bible and read some of God's Word. When he finished, he got down on his knees and prayed.

"God, I pray to You my soul to keep and to protect the world, awake or asleep, bring as many others to You as You can through Your servants so You can save them. Love us, bless us, and grace us. Be with us always. Cleanse me of sin Lord Jesus and keep me saved and hold me close. Please bring a legion of angels to guard this home. And one more thing, Lord, send me a serious boyfriend. In Your Holy Name, amen." He got, turned out his light, and hopped into bed.

The next morning he woke up to hear his mother shouting his name. "Ethan, get up!" He turned on his side and glanced at his clock. It read eleven thirty. Ethan crawled out of bed and made his way to the bathroom. He turned on the shower and got in. As the hot water ran over his body, he began thinking to himself even though he was barely awake. I wonder if today will be the different. Maybe today will be the day I get that boyfriend and I'll be greatful to God forever! He washed his body and hair and probably stayed in longer than he should have.

Once out of the shower he dried off and wrapped the towel around his waist. He went back to his room and looked for some clothes to wear. He took out a T-shirt that says I'm Hot! a pair of Silver Tab jean shorts, and Nike sneakers. He put those on, along with a coral necklace, a pair of hoop earrings, and spiked up his hair. He then cleaned up his room a it and went downstairs to get some breakfast. He choose a bagel and spread some cream cheese on it, ate it, and brushed his teeth in the bathroom. He then headed down the stairs.

"Where are you going, Ethan?" his mother called out from the den.

Ethan stuck his head in the doorway. "I was planning on going down to the mall to meet some friends."

"Oh, okay," his mother replied. "Just be careful out there."

"I will," Ethan yelled and left the house. He began walking down his street at a comfortable stroll and made his way to the mall. He opened the door to the building and went to one of the food courts. He got a Pepsi and choose a seat to wait for a couple of his girlfriends. He sipped his drink and glanced at the clock. Where are Justin and Ian? He thought to himself and his mood began to darken.

He was sitting there staring off into space when his eyes fell on the hottest guy he had ever seen. The guy was tall, probably about six foot, with brown hair styled in lazy spikes, piercing blue eyes, broad shoulders, and tan skin. The clothes he wore made him look even hotter. He sported a button up beige short sleeve shirt with baggy denim jeans and Doc Martens. He wore no jewelry and when he smiled at the casher, he looked sweet and very cute.

Ethan sighed. He's really cute, he thought and almost fell out of his chair. Ethan was looking down at the table and didn't see the guy he had been admiring come up beside him.

"Mind if I sit down?" he asked Ethan.

Ethan looked up. The guy had a sexy voice. "No, go ahead."

Once he was in a chair he said, "I'm Chris Audio."

"Ethan Yaten."

"Nice to meet you," Chris said and stuck out his hand.

Ethan smiled and shook it. "Right back at ya."

Chris laughed and Ethan found he liked a smile on Chris's face.

"I just want to get something out in the open before you get the wrong idea," Ethan said seriously.

"Go ahead," Chris replied.

Ethan took a deep breath and plunged. "I'm gay. Have been as long as I can remember. This is pretty much the gay area of Honolulu so I tell that to everyone so they don't get the wrong idea."

Chris didn't even twitch a muscle. "That's fine with me."

Ethan switched gears without missing a beat. "Oh really? Why do you say that? You look straight to me."

"Oh, not quite," Chris said and gave Ethan a smile. "I'm gay too."

Ethan felt a twinge of happiness coming on. Chris being gay was great! Then his mind clicked. Maybe this was the answer to his prayer. Oh God how he hoped so!

"Something wrong, Ethan?" Chris asked. "You have a funny look on your face."

"Everything's fine," Ethan replied. Oh thank You, Lord! This is the best thing You've ever done for me besides give me life! He prayed happily. "I don't mean to be rude or anything, but are you seeing anyone?"

Chris smiled again. "No, are you?"

Ethan laughed. "No, not at the moment. I'm between boyfriends. I want someone serious."

"You've never had a serious boyfriend?" Chris asked.

"No," Ethan said honestly.

"How old are you?" Chris asked.

"I'm fourteen," Ethan answered. "What about you?"

"Eighteen," Chris replied. "And definitely into you!"

Ethan felt his heart melt and was warm all over. Was this what love was like? He wasn't sure, but if it was, he liked it!

Chris leaned across the table. "What are you doing today?'

"Well, I was suppose to meet my friends Justin and Ian here," Ethan replied and gave Chris a flirty smile. "But they are late and I have not a clue to where they would be!"

"What do you want to do, Ethan?" Chris asked and grabbed Ethan's hand.

Ethan thought it over for a couple of minutes and came to a decision. "I want to go to the amusement park."

"Let's do it," Chris said.

They finished their drinks and headed from the mall in Chris' Toyota pickup to the park. They bought tickets and went on all kinds of rides together. By the time they were done, it was five thirty. Ethan gave Chris directions to his house.

Once Chris joined Ethan on the walk Ethan asked, "what do you want to do after dinner?"

"Let's go to a movie," Chris suggested.

"Okay," Ethan replied and slid into the door he had just opened with Chris in tow.

"Ethan? Is that you?" Ethan mother's voice rang out.

"Yes, Mom," Ethan said. "It is."

"Hi," she said and her eyes fell on Chris. "Who is this?"

"Mom, this is Chris Audio" Ethan replied. "Chris, this is my mother, Lee Yaten."

"Pleased to meet you," Chris said.

"You too, honey," Lee responded. "Is he staying for dinner, Ethan?"

"No, we were planning to go out for dinner and then a movie," Ethan answered.

"That's fine with me,' Lee said. "It'll give your father and I a night alone."

"I'm sure you'll enjoy it," Ethan said and raised his brows. "Uh, Mom? Can I talk to you in the other room?"

"Sure dear," Lee said and followed Ethan into the den. Once inside she asked, "what's this all about Ethan?"

"I think you had better sit down for this one, Mom," Ethan said and did as he suggested.

Lee gave him a puzzled look but did what she was asked.

"I have some really big news, though I don't know if you'll find it exciting," Ethan stated.

"Well tell me and I'll decide for myself," Lee replied.

"Chris is more than just a new friend of mine," Ethan stopped, waiting for a reaction and not getting one, moved on, "and I really like him. He makes me feel so good, so alive! I think his is the one I've waited all my life for. I prayed last night and asked for a serious boyfriend. Someone to love and have love me back in every possible way. And God answered me! It's like my greatest dream come true!"

Lee sat back in the chair she was in and sighed. "Are you sure, Ethan?"

"Yes, Mom. I've never been more sure about anything in my life," Ethan replied.

"You know you don't need my permission for these things," Lee said.

"I know that, Mom," Ethan said. "I just wanted you to know how things are going in my life. It's good for parents be aware of what's up with their kids."

"Hmm," Lee mused and then chuckled. "Well, if you're so much in love with Chris, what are you doing sitting in here talking to me?"

Ethan jumped up and gave his mother a hug. "You're so great, Mom!" he said and rushed back into the living room to find Chris sitting on the couch. He rose and Ethan dragged him into the kitchen. "Why don't you go on home and get ready for dinner? I'll do the same and you can come back by and pick me up at six thirty, okay?"

"Okay," Chris replied. "It's a plan."

"Bye," Ethan said and gave Chris a quick kiss before he headed out the door.

Immediately after Chris left, Ethan ran up the stairs to his room and began planning his outfit and the like. After a shower and a shave, Ethan put on a ribbed, black V-neck short sleeve shirt which he tucked into tan slacks held up by a wide leather belt, and then slipped on some Doc Martens. He spiked his hair, put on a gold chain and two diamond studs, and he sprayed on some CK-1 fragrance and went downstairs to wait for Chris.

He didn't have to wait for long. About two minutes after he had sat down, the doorbell rang. Ethan heard his mother get the door and Chris's voice as he talked to her. He went to the closet and took out his leather jacket, then joined Chris and Lee at the door.

"Hi, Chris," Ethan said and smiled.

"Hi, Ethan," Chris replied. "Ready to go?"

"Sure," Ethan confirmed and kissed his mother good-bye.

"You kids have a good time," Lee called.

"Later, Mrs. Yaten," Chris said from on the porch.

"Good bye, dear," Lee said and shut the door behind them.

Chris and Ethan got into Chris's Toyota and soon were cruising down the road. The radio was up loud, playing Sum 41. Ethan watched the scenery go by with a new found happiness. He liked this new feeling more than he had any other in his life.

They had their dinner at a chic, yet expensive restaurant and shortly after went to the movies and saw Here on Earth. Instead of taking him home after that, Chris drove Ethan out to a spot in the mountains, a few miles from Honolulu and then rolled out some blankets in the back of his pickup bed. They lay over them and cuddled close staring up at the starry night sky. Ethan couldn't remember ever feeling so safe or loved. He would remember this always.

"What are you thinking about, Ethan?" Chris asked and turned on his side to look at him.

Ethan's green eyes found Chris's blue ones and he said, "just that I want to remember this moment forever. Just like this."

"I hope you remember every moment we spend together," Chris replied and gave him a stern look.

Ethan burst out laughing and said, "I plan on it!"

They talked some more about things they did in high school; Chris had already graduated. Chris told Ethan he was working as a lifeguard and after the summer was over he was attending college to major in psychology.

"What about you?" Chris asked, eyes alight with interest. "What do you want to do?"

"I want to become a singer," Ethan stated as if the was the most natural thing in the world.

"That's a great career," Chris said. "Can you sing?"

"Of course I can!"

"Then sing for me," Chris requested.

"Sing what?" Ethan demanded.

"I don't know," Chris admitted. "Just sing for me."

"Okay," Ethan said and then launched into Selena's "Dreaming of You".

Chris listened and was blown away. Ethan could do more than sing, he sounded better then what Chris imaged angels sang like. Ethan had real talent and Chris was glad he wasn't going to waste it.

After Ethan finished, they picked up the blankets and headed back to Ethan's house. In the pickup at the curb, Chris killed the engine and turned to Ethan.

"I had a really good time tonight, Ethan," Chris said and smiled at him.

"So did I," Ethan replied and smiled back at him.

"So does that mean I can see you again?" Chris asked, hoping it was a go.

"Of course you can!" Ethan exclaimed, shocked that Chris even had to ask.

"Great," Chris said sincerely.

"I guess this is good night," Ethan stated, his lower lip trembling.

"I guess so," Chris responded and looked over at Ethan. "I really want to kiss you."

"I want to kiss you too," Ethan answered.

Chris leaned forward and placed his lips softly on Ethan's. They began to kiss, soft, tender, butterfly kisses that turned into full passion. Ethan drew back.

"What's wrong?" Chris asked, concern in his voice.

"If I keep going, I won't be able to stop," Ethan said. "I want to save my virginity for husband. I believe God wants it that way."

"I understand," Chris said and stroked Ethan's cheek.

"You do?" Ethan asked, shocked. None of his other boyfriends did.

"Yes," Chris said. "I want to give in too, but not on the first date. You're worth more than sex to me. I want more out of this relationship then that."

Ethan couldn't say anything to that. "Good night, Chris."

"Good night, Ethan," Chris said.

Ethan got out of the car, ran up the walk and dashed inside. Chris stayed outside at the curb until he saw Ethan's light go off.

At lunch in school that Monday, Ethan filled Kyle, Justin, Ian, Jeff, and Paul in on the things that had happened with Chris. They were all very excited about it.

"Wow, Ethan!" Justin exclaimed. "That's just great!"

Ethan smiled and took a bite of his chicken salad.

"Are you seriously in love with this guy, Ethan?" Kyle asked, knowing Ethan fell in love with some hot boy every other day.

Ethan gave Kyle an annoyed look. "Of course I do! I've never felt this way about any other guy!"

"You say that all the time," Ian remarked and rolled his eyes.

"I'm serious!" Ethan protested and crossed his arms. "I've been wanting a serious relationship for a long time and I finally have one that I'm not going to screw up. Why can't you believe that?"

"Don't worry about it, Ethan," Jeff glossed over the rising tension. "They just like giving you a hard time."

Ethan nodded but didn't say anything.

"How old is Chris?" Paul asked, stealing a French fry from Justin's plate who slapped his hand away.

"Eighteen," Ethan replied and also stole a fry.

"Get your own food!" Justin yelled.

"Eighteen?" Jeff repeated. "Isn't that a little old? I mean, he could be turned in for raping a minor."

"Oh please," Ian said, shooting Jeff a dirty look. "Like that's going to happen."

Ethan slammed his hands on table. "Why is it a problem if I'm seeing an eighteen year old yet Justin has been in love with Travis forever? And he's eighteen too!"

"Very true," Kyle agreed. "That's a good point."

"Yeah, but Justin's never done anything about it," Ian reminded them all.

"Who cares what age he is?" Justin demanded. "If Ethan's in love, we should be happy for him. That's what friends are supposed to do."

They stared down at their trays, guilt on their faces.

"Thank you, Justin," Ethan said smiled. "So where's the party at this Friday?"

"Up at Scott's," Kyle replied.

"Good," Ethan said. "I tell Chris about it and we'll go. Then you'll finally get to meet him and see how wonderful he really is!"

Shortly after nine on Friday night Chris and Ethan pulled up to Scott's and got out of the car. They walked up to the house holding hands and went inside. Ethan found his friends instantly and introduced Chris to them.

"It's great to finally meet you," Kyle said. "We've heard so much about you."

"Yeah we have," Justin said in a funny voice and gave Chris a smile. "Ethan never shuts up about you."

"Is that right?" Chris asked and gave Ethan a mock hard look.

"What can I say?" Ethan replied. "You're just to great not to talk about!"

The whole group laughed at that.

"Can you dance?" Ian asked Chris, looking him up and down.

"Of course I can," Chris said.

"Good, let's move then!" Ian said and the whole group got busy.

When Chris and Ethan were outside of Ethan's house, Chris seemed kind of withdrawn.

"Chris? Is there something wrong?" Ethan asked, sounding concerned.

"Oh nothing," Chris replied and turned to Ethan. He took Ethan's hand in his own and then drew a shaky breath. "Would you do something for me?"

"Unhuh," Ethan answered automatically.

"Would you be my boyfriend?" Chris asked, his eyes shining with love.

Ethan smiled a smile of someone in love and someone who was loved back. "Of course I will."

Chris smiled back at him. He couldn't believe how lucky he was.

Ethan bragged to all his friends how he was dating Chris and they were truly happy for him. Saturday night they went to a club for minors to celebrate Ethan's success.

"To Ethan," Kyle said and raised his glass. "For finding the man of his dreams!"

"Here, here," Justin agreed and everybody touched their glasses and drank deeply.

Ethan smiled at every one of them fondly. "You guys are the best friends any one could ask for."

"Of course we are," Ian said. "That's what being friends is all about."
"I couldn't have said it better myself," Paul remarked.

"Nor I," Jeff agreed.

"Well, what are sitting here for?" Ethan asked. "Let's dance!"

The group ran onto to the dance floor and the whole world just slipped away.

In school everyone remarked on how a change was coming over Ethan. Everybody agreed that he was a lot nicer than he had been before. Many were very greatful for the change and made it known. Ethan couldn't help but be happy. He was in love with his soul mate and couldn't be happier. And it shown everywhere he went.

About a week after Chris had asked Ethan out they were sitting a karaoke bar listening to others sing when Chris had an idea.

"Ethan," Chris started. "You should get up there and sing."

"No way!" Ethan said. "I'm happy just being here with you."

"Come on, Ethan," Chris begged. "Do it for me?"

Ethan looked at his boyfriend's face and couldn't resist. "Okay, I will."

"Great," Chris said.

Ethan walked up to the control panel and choose Mandy Moore's "Everything My Heart Desires". He stepped onto stage and began to sing. People hushed as his beautiful voice began to move to them. By the time he was done, everyone was on their feet cheering. But no one cheered louder than Chris.

Ethan joined Chris who swept him up in a big hug. He then kissed him and Ethan felt like he could fly.

Sunday night three weeks after singing in the bar, Ethan was dancing with Chris on his private porch outside under the beautiful Hawaiian sky. When the song ended, Chris wrapped his arms around Ethan and Ethan rested his body against Chris's. He knew this was where he was to be for all his life. This was the way it was meant to be.

Ethan undid himself from Chris and sat on his little bench. Chris stood looking up at the stars and stuck his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

"Chris," Ethan called. "Come join me."

Chris came over to Ethan and crouched before him.

"What are you doing down there?" Ethan asked and smiled. "Sit here by me."

Chris didn't move. Instead he took Ethan's hand in his own. "Would you do something for me?"
"Unhuh," Ethan said softly and nodded.

"Would you marry me?" Chris asked and looked deep into Ethan's eyes.

Ethan smiled happily down at him and Chris smiled back. They then kissed each other tenderly.

The marriage of Chris Audio and Ethan Yaten took place on April fifteenth in the church where Ethan's father pastured. The entire church was done in flowers and other beautiful decorations. Everyone had agreed that they had never seen a more beautiful wedding.

Chris stood to the left of Pastor Jason Yaten and waited for his love to arrive. A soft, beautiful Christian song played as the Justin, Ian, Paul and Jeff(who were Ethan's groomsmen) made their way down the aisle and stood a ways off to the left of Jason. Shortly after Kyle, Ethan's man of honor, made his way down that same aisle.

Chris turned to his best man, who was his dad and smiled. Mr. Audio gave Chris the smile of a proud father. Then everyone turned in their seats and Chris looked back as well. Ethan came down the aisle slowly on the arm of his mother looking more handsome then ever. Lee let go of Ethan's arm and Ethan took his place beside Chris.

"I love you," Chris mouthed to Ethan.

"I love you," Ethan mouthed back.

"Love is kind, it is not boastful, nor is it jealous, nor mean," Jason began. "Love is beautiful, love is sweet, love is patient, love never fails. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to unite this man and man in holy matrimony. Begin your vows, Chirs."

"I, Chris Blaine Audio, take you, Ethan Michael Yaten, to be my lawful wedded husband, to honor and to cherish, to love and obey, in sickness and in health, from this day forward, I will be yours forever," Chris said and slid a plain gold band on Ethan's left hand.

"Begin your vows, Ethan," Jason said.

"I, Ethan Michael Yaten, take you, Chris Blaine Audio, to by my lawful wedded husband, to honor and to cherish, to love and obey, in sickness and health, from this day forward, I will be yours forever," Ethan said and slid the same gold band on Chris's left hand.

They looked at one another and smiled lovingly at each other.

"If anyone has any objections to why these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace," Jason said clearly.

Everyone looked with absolute admiration at the couple.

"Very well," Jason said. "I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss the groom."

Chris took Ethan in his arms and gave him the most loving kiss he ever had. Nothing had ever felt so right.

Two weeks after their wedding, Chris was on his way to home(Ethan's house, where they lived) after just getting off work. His thoughts were on Ethan and how much he loved him and lucky he was to be with him. After first he didn't see the truck coming right at him. The driver was drunk and Chris swerved to the left to avoid him but at the same time so did the driver.

They hit head on and the crunch of metal was clearly heard for one hundred feet. Chris's head struck the steering wheel ad was knocked unconscious. Chris's Toyota flipped through the air and rolled twice before landing in the center of the road.

A man had pulled over to shoulder of the road and now jumped out of his car. "Call the police!" he shouted to his wife. Seeing this done, he raced over to help Chris. He just hoped they got there in time.

Ethan had just stepped in the door after getting home from tennis practice when the phone rang. He picked up it up on the second ring.

"Hello?" he asked.

"Is this Mr. Ethan Audio?" said an unfamiliar voice on the other line.

"Yes, it is," Ethan said, thinking something must be wrong.

"I'm sorry to inform you Mr. Audio," the voice said in tone like it had done this a million times, "but your husband Chris has been in an accident and is currently lying in a comma at Honolulu Community Hospital."

He felt his knees go weak and the phone fell to the floor.

"Ethan? What's the matter?" she took one look at the receiver on the floor and noticed how white her son's face was. "Tell me what happened."

"Chris…," Ethan sobbed. "Chris has been in accident and he's in a comma!"

Lee put her arms around her son and cried as if his life was over. "Do you want to go to the hospital?"

Ethan straightened up and whipped his tears away. "Yes, just let me get my Bible."

He dashed upstairs and grabbed it. After they were in the car, Ethan told his mother were Chris was prayed that Chris would wake up.

When they got there, Ethan found Chris's room and raced inside. Chris's parents were already there. They told him Chris's seatbelt had saved his life. Ethan opened his Bible and began reading verses to Chris. Shortly after he sat down by Chris and took his hand, all kinds of thoughts running through his head. Why did this happen? He knew it was no fault of God's. It was Satan. For once Ethan had been truly happy and the devil couldn't handle it so he did his best to get rid of it.

A week had passed and Chris still hadn't woke up. Chris's friends and all of Ethan's came to see Chris all the time and give words of support to Ethan. Ethan had done everything in his power to revive Chris and nothing had worked. He now left it in God's hands. Ethan had been informed on how Chris had got this way and was told the man who did it was put away for attempted manslaughter. He was exhausted and probably had cried himself out. Then he looked at Chris and felt tears start up again. Oh how he wished Chris would wake up!

After crying himself out again, Ethan fell in a light sleep and what had brought him awake was that Chris's hand had moved. Ethan looked at Chris's face and Chris's eyes fluttered open. Ethan felt instant relief. He hit the buzzer to signal the nurse. She came in and seeing him awake, took his vital signs and left.

Ethan kissed Chris deeply. "You're awake, I'm so relieved."

"That's right, love, I am," Chris said and they kissed again.

"I've been so worried," Ethan told him. "I thought you were going to die."

"Not that I know of," Chris replied.

"Just in passing," Ethan said. "The man who made you wreck is in jail for life on attempted manslaughter without chance of parole."

"I think that's the best place for him," Chris remarked.

"Me too," Ethan agreed. Ethan then filled Chris up on everything that had happened.

Just when they thought everything was going to okay, things took a turn for the worst. The doctors discovered Chris had internal bleeding and couldn't do anything about it.

"You're really going to leave me," Ethan said, tears spilling down his cheeks.

"No, I'm not," Chris declared. "I'll always be in your heart and in your mind," he said and took Ethan's hand, his own eyes moist.

"Would you do something for me?" Ethan asked, trying Chris's line.

"Of course," Chris replied.

"Would you accept Jesus into your life so when you leave this way, you'll be in heaven and I'll meet you there down the road," Ethan begged.

"Yes, I will," Chris said.

That night they prayed and renewed their vows to the Lord. Two days later, Ethan was holding Chris's hand when Chris opened his eyes.

"It's time," Chris said simply.

"No!" Ethan begged. "No, not yet!"

"I have to go," Chris explained. "My time is done. I want to tell you I love you."

"I love you!" Ethan said and squeezed Chris hand.

Chris smiled and closed his eyes. A second later the steady beep came out of his life monitor.

Ethan lay down on Chris and cried and cried, even though he knew they would meet again.

At the funeral service, Ethan sang his and Chris song, "Dreaming of You", and cried through the whole thing.

That night Ethan prayed to God to see Chris once more. In his mind he heard "turn around" and did so and there was Chris.

"Oh, Chris!" Ethan wailed. "I miss you so much!"

"I miss you too," Chris said sadly.

"Why did you have to die?"

"My whole point in life was to find you and marry you to make you so very happy," Chris answered. "I died because I had done my mission in life. I made you happy. That was what I was here to do."

"I want you back!"

"I want to be back," Chris said and turned his head. "I have to go."

"No! Stay!" Ethan begged.

"I can't," Chris said sadly.

"But I love you!"

"And I love you," Chris said and began to fade. "Remember, Ethan. I'm always here, no matter what. Now sing for me."

Ethan poured his heart into "Dreaming of You". When he opened his eyes, Chris was gone.

A month later Ethan has started the process of moving on with his life. He heeds Chris's words and waits for the day when they can be together again. Kyle, Justin, Ian, Jeff, and Paul call to him from outside his window. Ethan gives himself one more glance in the mirror before heading out. He puts a smile on his face and thinks Chris would have wanted it this way. In his heart, he sees Chris smiling and laughing, then kissing him with all his love. It fills Ethan with joy and he smiles despite the tears in his eyes. We'll be together soon, Chris. Then he made his way outside.

Way up in heaven, Chris smiles down on Ethan and "Dreaming of You" echoes off the walls. Yes, Ethan, my love, we will.
