A hurt that is Love

I loved you.

Truly

Madly

Totally

Completely

I loved you so much it hurt

So much it bled.

I felt so passionately about you,

I couldn't distinguish between Love and Hate

That's what you did to me.

And it broke me up inside.

I even loved you when you hit me.

I don't mind that you left me

And I don't mind that you left me with bruises

But I hate you for leaving me with these walls inside

And I hate you for not letting me love now that someone has got through.

When you hurt me I felt it was my fault

That I deserved it

That I wound you up

It wasn't just my skin you broke

When my blood stained the kitchen floor

And it wasn't just my lip that burst

When you gave a sample of your temper as a present

I'm not going to explain this,

But I do owe you thanks.

And let's give credit where credit's due:

You had a wonderful right hook.
