Love of an Angel
~27 - May You Be Happy~

The night seemed to pass by quickly. It seemed to have lasted for a short instant the quickly change to morning. The golden morning sun slowly rose into the sky. The clouds all turned a golden color along with the Earth below.

Beams of warm sunshine peeked through the open window's of Mitsukai's room. Rual stirred a bit and reached for Mitsukai. Instead her arm fell into the empty spot next to her. She opened her eyes and quickly sat up. Rual looked around the room to find it empty.

"Mitsukai?" Rual called, looking around the room.

When Rual didn't get an answer, she panicked. She kicked the blankets off and ran out into the hallway. She made her way downstairs. Rual ran past the Living Room and Kitchen. She headed towards the back door, feeling her heart pounding and racing like mad. She grabbed the doorknob and flung the door open.

At first, the morning sun blinded her, making it hard to see. Rual stepped out into the backyard, feeling the cool grass beneath her feet. She regained her sighting and looked around the backyard. She didn't see anyone at first, but finally noticed Mitsukai standing in the far off corner.

"Mitsukai." Rual spoke, running over to him.

Mitsukai just stood there, silently looking up at the sky.

"Mitsukai, what are you doing standing out here?" Rual asked, stopping a few feet away from him.

Mitsukai remained silent, still staring at the sky.

"Mitsukai?" Rual called, her eyes becoming sad.

"I'm sorry...Rual." Mitsukai answered, not looking at her. "But...it's time for me to go. It's time for me to leave for my new assignment."

"Now?" Rual asked, taking a step closer to him. "But...I didn't even have time to say good-bye to you..."

"I didn't want you to." Mitsukai replied. "Because it would've made it harder for me to leave."

"Mitsukai." Rual whispered as she began to cry. "I don't want you to go. I don't want you to leave."

Mitsukai looked up towards the sky, his eyes glittering with tears. His eyes widden in shock as he felt Rual wrap her arms around him. She buried her face between his shoulderblades. Mitsukai's eyes saddened as he felt her tears run down his back.

"I want you to stay with me." Rual answered.

"I'd love to stay with you, Rual. But I can't." Mitsukai answered, staring up at the clouds. "I have to leave. I don't want to leave you, but I need to."

"Why can't you stay with me a little longer?" Rual asked. "I understand how important it us for you to become a Guardian Angel. But...I want you here."

"I want to be here with you too." Mitsukai replied, a tear falling down his cheek.

Mitsukai removed Rual's arms from his waist. He turned around and faced her. Rual looked up at him, her eyes full of tears. Mitsukai touched her face, his eyes staring deep into Rual's. Rual placed her hand on his, holding onto it, never wanting to let go.

"I was always happy. Here with you." Mitsukai whispered to Rual. "You've always made me feel complete inside."

Rual looked up at Mitsukai, the tears falling from her eyes, never stopping.

"I want you stay." Rual cried. "I don't want you to leave. You're everything to me, Mitsukai!"

Rual lowered her head. Her tears falling to the ground. Her shoulders bobbed up and down as she cried silently. Mitsukai looked at her, holding back his own tears.

"I don't want you to leave me like you did in my dream." Rual spoke.

Mitsukai hugged Rual tightly. Rual hugged him back, still crying. Mitsukai closed his eyes as the white aura of light surrounded him again. His large white wings reappeared out of his back. A few loose white feathers falling to the ground.

"Mitsukai..." Rual whispered as she continued to cry.

"I'll never leave you, Rual." Mitsukai spoke to her. "As long as you continue to believe in me, I will always be there for you."

"Will you remember me?" Rual asked, opening her eyes.

Mitsukai opened his eyes and smiled.

"Of course. I would never forget you." Mitsukai answered.

Mitsukai pulled away from Rual and looked down at her. He wiped away a stray tear with his thumb. Rual looked up at him, feeling her heart slowly start to crumble inside of her. He leaned in towards her, his eyes closed again.

Rual's teary eyes widen in shock. Mitsukai kissed her on the lips gently. Rual closed her eyes as she kissed him back and continued to cry. His wings wrapped around her, making Rual feel warm and safe.

"Mitsukai..." Rual thought as they continued to kiss.

"I'm sorry...Rual." Mitsukai thought to himself.

A bright white light surrounded the two of them. Rual opened her eyes. Mitsukai disappeared and their surroundings faded. Rual reached out a hand to him before suddenly going unconscious.

"Rual! Time to get up!" Shouted Rual's mom from downstairs. "It's almost time for school, honey!"

Rual finished brushing her hair and looked at herself one last time in the mirror. She put her brush down, next to a framed picture. She grabbed her bag and headed out the door.

"Morning!" Rual shouted as she ran into the kitchen.

"Morning dear. Did you have a nice sleep?" Her mother asked, putting her breakfast down on the table.

"Yup." Rual answered, grabbing a Pop-Tart from the cupboard.

"Is that all you're going to eat?" Asked Rual's dad as he looked at her.

"It's a must for someone on the go." Rual answered, before kissing her dad on the cheek.

Rual ripped open the silver packaging. She removed one of the Pop-Tarts inside and shoved it in her mouth. She chewed it a bit before swallowing it down. Rual put the other half of her Pop-Tart in her bag as she headed for the front door.

"See you later!" Rual shouted as she ran out the door while trying to get her shoes on.

"That girl..." Rual's dad replied as he shook his head.

"Let her go. I'm sure she'll be okay." Rual's mom answered, starting to eat her breakfast.

My name is Rual. I am 15 and live with my parents in a nice, peaceful neighborhood.

Rual ran to the end of the driveway, before making a turn. She ran down the sidewalk, a smile on her face. The people stepped aside as Rual ran through them. She turned another corner before running up a tall flight of concrete steps. At the top of the steps, Rual faced a large navy colored house.

I'm not exactly the most attractive girl in school, nontheless, not the most popular. I have brown hair that goes past my shoulders slightly and deep brown eyes. Nice peach colored skin and I stand at a height of 5ft 5in. I have a nice personality and care deeply about all of my friends.

Rual ran up to the front door, and knocked on it. She took a step back and fixed her hair a bit. The door opened and there stood Shane. Rual smiled brightly as Shane stepped aside.

"Morning." Rual answered cheerfully. "Ready for school?"

"Mom! I'm going now!" Shane shouted from the doorway.

Shane stepped outside and closed the door behind him. He put on his shoes which only took him a few seconds. Shane looked up at Rual and smiled.

"I thought I was picking you up." Shane replied, walking next to Rual.

"I just wanted to surprise you. That's all." Rual answered, taking hold of Shane's hand.

This is my boyfriend Shane. We've been going out for a month now. There was a time in life when I used to like his best friend Chance. Turns out, Chance loved this girl named Ricky instead. I was a bit depressed about, but Shane was there for me when I needed someone. Now, Shane is the only one that matters to me.

Shane scoped Rual up in his arms and began to carry her. Rual just smiled and laughed. After carrying her all the way down the long staircase of concrete stairs, he set her down on the sidewalk. Rual looked into Shane's eyes, still smiling. The two of them kiss for minute before linking arms and walked off together.

As the two disappear into the distance, a long white feather falls from the sky. Mitsukai stood on the roof of someone's house, watching Rual and Shane disappear. He smiled weakly as he slowly turned away. His wings enclosed around him and he disappeared. A few of his white feathers blowing away in the gentle breeze.

That's it. There isn't anymore. Love of an Angel has finished after 27 WONDERFUL chapters. It has been my pleasure writing for you and I hope you've enjoyed this story because I know I have. Plans for a sequel are underway, but a bit fuzzy.

"Yeah. Hopefully we'll get better pay this time." Chibi-Tenshi answered, folding his arms.

"And bigger dressing rooms, too!" Chibi-Mitsukai shouts.

/sweat drop/ Anyways, until next time, don't forget me, because I won't forget you! /smooches/
