Time ticks by,
Her fear grows,
The storm rolls on,
Leaving hopes of a new day,
Crushed in the dirt.
She grows old,
Old fears rise as
Lightening strikes, brightening the sky.
A reminder of yesterday.
Hopes and dreams left behind,
Seeking a better way.
Her body grows cold,
Her breath stills,
Her time is done,
The price paid.
She made his world come undone.
Then finally realizing that perhaps she was wrong,
She wished she were young.
One last dream,
A single hope,
To follow the path from which she had gone astray.
Knowing instead,
That death had come for her this day.
