Greetings, I am Dax Bordas. For over thirteen years now I have worked as a federal employee with the Transportation Security Administration. In 2010 I served in Iraq with my Army National Guard unit; my MOS was medic. I hold a BA in philosophy from the University of New Orleans, and my minor was in English. Back then I was avidly involved in short fiction writing and had one short story titled "Empty Box" published in UNO's literary magazine, Ellipsis, back in 1995.
I am going on twelve years of happy marriage to my wonderful wife who is a high school science teacher. We live very near to Baton Rouge, LA. My hobbies and interests include music of all genres, guitar playing, reading American Mafia history, movies, (writing, of course), staying fit at the local Planet Fitness, and practicing my handgun skills at the range at least once a month. Besides the occupations I mentioned above I have also worked in the video poker gaming industry, as a taxi driver, as a bartender, and in retail in my past. Hopefully, I will be able to incorporate much of my life experiences in my writing!
Of the pieces I have posted here on FictionPress, my "A Rather Tender Subject" was published in the 2017 anthology, Bon Appetit: Stories & Recipes For Human Consumption; "Sinbad the Shy" and "A Latchkey Kid's Tale" are the most recent, appearing in Messages From The Dark Side, just released in April of 2020. (Both books available on Amazon!) My poem, "Praying To Mr. Bingle", got published in Draconis Blackthorne's magazine, The Devil's Diary, the Helloween LII edition (2017).
